Hi all,

This is my first time as a contributor to the GPL community.

Jéhonville V1.1 (Light) original track by Jean-François Bovy (jf) &  Alexis Bigonville (Gouju)
Get the original track here: https://users.skynet....jehon/down.html
SRMZ thread on this track: https://srmz.racesimcentral.net/inde...?showtopic=2865
SRMZ thread on updated AI for this track: https://srmz.racesimcentral.net/inde...?showtopic=9628
You do not have to install the high quality patch. This Nicolas Update includes anything
needed from the high quality patch. Both patched and unpatched V1.1 will be updated to
the same result using the Nicolas Update.

Jéhonville Nicolas Update:
Updates the original V1.1 (Light or High Quality Patched) Jéhonville for Grand Prix Legends.
This upgrade focuses on higher res realistic textures, solves some
graphics glitches, improves drawing distances, and tries to give a
realistic feel for an october race in Belgium. After all, the first Historic GP of Jéhonville
(1987) was in october. Not for the oldest of PC's: if you couldn't run the High Quality Patch,
you can't run the Nicolas Update.

Install Jéhonville Nicolas Update:
Just unzip this folder into your GPL/Tracks/Jehon folder.
Allow to overwrite files if prompted.

Default variant of Jéhonville Nicolas Update:

-HiResTrees
If you encounter performance problems in the second half of the track,
use LoResTrees instead.
-LongDraw
If you encounter performance problems, specifically but not necessarily
only in the second part of the track, use ShortDraw instead. ShortDraw is
the drawing distances of the original V1.1. Easier on your PC, but it
will cause pop-ups, hidden geometry in the distance, and it will show strange
elements in the new backdrop that only work well with LongDraw.

All source material used for the textures in this update is assumed to be free of copyright and use.
If any errors have been made in this respect, please notify me on SimRacing Mirror Zone and I'll
replace the texture.

Sorry, I'll reupload the file tomorrow. I just discovered this one has the wrong version of some files.

Sorry for the waiting. I promise it won't take 8 years, but it won't be for today after all (just became father again this week...). :) I'm just working a little bit more on the drawing distance, as I couldn't get one point to my liking but I didn't notice until yesterday. But it turns out to be hard to solve. I just now found out for myself that GPL clips FB values to a maximum, so I was chasing ghosts with my previous approach. Close to final result now. The documentation talks about FB lower value clipping, but not upper value. Apparently it does both.

Hi Nicholas

I look forward to your update, the screenshots look very nice, Jehonville is one of my favourite GPL tracks

I agree, the screenshots look great, nice little track to drive. Take your time Nicholas as Larko said (I wish he would during our league races :whistling: )

It's available for download! See first post. Lots of fun with it. Be sure to backup your current Jehon folder first, in case you'd want to go back (you won't :)).

Good choice, I always loved this charming circuit except the luminous grass and trees.  Looks great now.  Thanks Nicolas

Glad you like it! Question for those who tried my update: did you get good FPS all around the track using the installation defaults LongDraw & HiResTrees? On the second half I get around 40FPS, the rest 60FPS (training mode). I have a crappy system. :) My reference is other tracks where I go down to low 40's FPS, so that was the number I was aiming for on my system.

Have you tried it with a full field of AI?

No, because my PC can't handle a full field of AI anyway. When I drive solo I go down to 44FPS on parts of eg Oliver's Mount, so that was my target. But it'd be interesting to know how others experience this Jéhonville compared to other tracks; is it light enough or too heavy on a system that can run the other tracks (minus Monaco :)) OK. If this one's fine, I'll use 44FPS solo as my development target for my future projects on this PC and I'll know it would run fine on decent PC's.

I'll give it a try if Fanatec ever gets my pedals fixed. Not the greatest customer service.

Yeah, that's been going on for a while. I hope you can sliiiiiiide again soon enough! By the way, the next track I'm going to refurbish is one with some nice powersliding turns.
