Thank you all for your kindness and for taking time to comment...
YOGI, Thank you for all of your work and addon's they make the Ring so much better :bowdown2:
... i know most of the track marker signs disappeared from the track in the 70's ...but i left them in because it adds to the atmosphere...

here is a LO-REZ preview clip...with the 69 Extra Cars (the video capture is a little choppy, (15 FPS) ,but the actual version in GPL is very smooth with much better color depth and staturation)

:bravo: Looks great, GAMMA!

Can you explain how it's faster?  Is it a different track layout from the GPL one?  Or have you altered the track layout from the GPL one?  I'm a little unclear as to how you made it faster.

Great work!

Dave

THANK YOU... FOR YOUR COMMENTS AND QUESTIONS...

This version of the track is faster for several reasons... it's wider , smoother, and more open ...and i did a lot of experimentation and testing
with all the cars sets and mod's, to develop a track specific performance tuned .ini for it... :woohoo2:

i think you will find this "Hotlap Version", very challenging ...in that each race is not as predictable and is never boring...
it effectively varies and changes up the out come each session, for some unexpected racing thrills  ... it pushes the cars and drivers to the edge... :drive1:

as for how it was done ?  ...you will have to wait until it's release... :bgrin:

in the mean while, here are some of the practice time results...

7.16?????????????? I won't be racing those guys.

The track looks good. Nice job.

Out of curiosity. Have you ever considered doing a 2013 version of the track? One of my fantasies is to win the lotto, and go to Germany for a factory pickup of a Porsche GT3. Then stay, and run Nurburgring for a month. Of course it's a dream, but you never know. Somebody has to win, and i'm sure they didn't think it would happen either. So, with that thought in mind. I could be practicing for my dream.  :D

ahhh come on don't say that til you give it ago ...track inspires you to go faster ...really :woohoo2:

i did a "2002" version that i posted an old lo-rez video clip of in my "1965 to 69" version thread it was a full circuit not just the north course ...for another sim, that you can have a look at   :)

...track inspires you to go faster ...

That ought to be interesting. It will give me a good excuse to spend a few weeks driving the 69 cars there. I've driven a lot of laps in the 67 Ferrari 312 but very few in any of the other cars. The 67 Lotus 49, Ferrari 712, Porsche 917, and 69 Matra are the only other cars I've driven there and probably no more than a dozen laps in each of those cars. I meant to spend most of this month driving the Nurburgring but haven't started yet. I'll have to do that this weekend.

I'm looking forward to your update. It looks nice and a little more variety will be fun. Thanks.

Ahhhh, Pete, if GAMMA is correct about it being faster, I bet you'll be pressuring the cars running 7:16 before long. With less than 10 laps in the Matra I'm almost down to 7:30 on the original track. I know with more practice and fine tuning set ups that I can cut a good bit of time off of that. I wonder if breaking the 7:00 mark in the Matra will be as elusive and challenging as trying to break 8:00 in the Ferrari 312. I've tried and tried but just can't get there.

Do yourself a favor and emigrate to western Europe ;) I promise you it'll be worth your while, to be able to go to the Ring whenever you like!

I think papy's original 1967 nurburgring is closer in fact to the 1971 safety updated circuit in many ways, really like your screenshots GAMMAWORX, they look great, look forward to the release when it happens.

Here is extended footage from the 1971 german gp recently uploaded to youtube.
