im not familiar with online racing , so i have a neophyte question, i see that sometime like in this case its a 60 fps  race , does that mean that  people with 36fps are not able to participate ?, i read in many places that the 60fs thing doesnt work well or at all with AI racing , so for people who enjoy AI racing its not really an option ,

You are right, one can't join a 60 fps server with 36 fps client. But you can switch between 36 and 60fps easily in GEM, so you can stick to 36 fps for offline races/trainings, while you enjoy higher fps online. Give it a try. There's always a few server on iGOR.

I'm trying to join the server to check that my '68 mod works ok online, but the only GH_WEEKLY 60fps server I can see is running the '66 mod, not the '68. Is there a '68 mod practice server?

By joining the server via IP on multiplayer screen might work.

I just tested the server and had no problems at all. Well, apart from some severe stutters when someone else briefly logged on, and then logged off again.

  I just changed the GPLSHIFT.INI font setting to zero, and reduced AA from 4x to 2x and it has helped. I could see messages flickering in the top left, and I couldn't read them, but there was no stuttering at all when the messages appeared. A great improvement.

Ref. the GPLWeekly GP68 event at Watkins Glen...

I thought that it went off rather well.  My fps was solid with no dips.  Frames were good even when gridded last.  Some qualifiers failed to start which was a pity.  I had some good duels with Roo and Paul.  All in all, a success, imo.  Hope to see more GP68 events in the near future.

Thanks for hosting, Jani!  :)

Thanks Jani for organising the event, and to all who took part. Unfortunately I made a mistake early on with a heavy fuel load which put me out of contention. I was lapping mostly on my own for a while, and then after another off-road moment I lost enthusiasm for completing the race. But the performance of the mod seemed good. After making some adjustments to deal with the message stuttering (see posts above) my frame rates were smooth and consistent, although I couldn't read any of the messages.

I would love to know how Keni made that Honda lap so fast! I haven't tested the Honda much yet, I'm still catching up with other mods like the '67 historic online carset. If you're reading this Keni, I would love to see your setup that you were using for the Honda. I thought I was doing okay when I occasionally got into the 1:04's with the McLaren M7, but to see 1:02's was an eye-opener.

Yesterday I spent hours to solve my fps problems. It was not that bad as in Goodwood 65, but it was still frustrating. Long story short: 4GB patch. https://ntcore.com/?page_id=371

I'm yet to try other mods, but it was okay last night. The fun side: I could run the patch in the afternoon but I could not make a test, so I started practice with fingers crossed :)

More to this: during my efforts in the afternoon I switched off Pribluda and pitboard too. I was already on the grid when I realized that I should have switched the pitboard back... I tried to count laps but finally it was better to calculate race time from an average of 66 sec lap time :D

Anyway, it was a classic event for me. A great comeback for Groundhog online races and a great debut for 1968 Early cars.

I was satisfied with my qual time and also my race speed. I popped the engine early in the race (old habits never fade), but I could never match the speed of the top runners, so it was not a big deal.

Congrats Keni on your victory! Well done Stefan on P2.
Thanks everyone for the event. Rouen 1968 on May 21. See race topic for details.

BIG THANK YOU to Axel for providing a server and hosting the event.

the guy who didnt take the start that was me , my first time online it was a test , for the pace too to  see if i was not totally outclass , but i was around fifth qualified  with1.04,20 far from the poleman ,but in the same league then the others   ,no problem to report the  frame rate was steady near 60  but i would be happy in 36fps too and there wouldnt be the car type problem , i really hope that there will be more early and late 68 events  its a realy good physic the best  imo with the F2  and i intend to concentrate on those 2 mods in the future  and a litle of F1-55 too :P
