That's 8am on Sunday for me, depending on the time for my son's football game I will try to connect, never been online with GTP and I usually strike some sort of gremlin. Hope to see you there.

Hi Burnsy!

Would be cool if you could make it.
Don`t worry. It is pretty much the same to go online with GTP as with GPL :)

Btw the server is not online atm, just in case someone is wondering why he can`t conect.

@Bruno: I think any internet connection is fine. It should even work with a modem 56k connection, as it is based on the GPL netcode. And back in those does the internet connections were much slower than today.

I think I will give this a try.
Sounds exciting.
But I have never tried racing via Internet because of a slow (cable) connection.

As I understand it its urgent to have:
1. The precise track (kyalami_pwf_beta)
2. The precise carset (GTP v1.1_NoCD_Carsets_Setups_Tracks.7z)
3. No reason to use (GTP_car_updates_all-in-one pack) because its included in above.

2 Questions:
a. Which car can I use?
b. How precisely do I follow "Plese join directly via IP = 95.91.143.46"? A small advice would be appreciated as this is my first time Online:-)

By the way. You can be very relaxed of my possible driving style. Im pretty experienced offline and dont want to get in way of others online:-)

Damn it, I have a league race scheduled to May 21st, 18GMT and it will finish around 19:30GMT :( I am the league admin so, unless I got discoed pretty early, that leaves me out of this event  :idunno:

The server is offline atm, as I can`t host dedicated. That means the server only hosts one race and that`s it. It won`t start a new race again by itself.
There might be a way to get it running dedicated, but it is too much hastle for just one fun race.
So I have to start each race (incl. qualy) by hand.

I will post here, when I set the server online again for 1 race on maximum practice time that is possible (90 min qualifying + 60 happy hour).

You have to start directly via IP.
At the GTP Launcher, choose GTP Multiplayer - Day and start GTP
Then enter the IP and off you go racing
:)

a ) Just choose a car you like of the four GTP Chassis:
Chassis A = Dodge (NR2003) = Toyota (GTP)
Chassis B = Pontiac (NR2003)= Jaguar (GTP)
Chassis C = Ford (NR2003) = Mercedes (GTP)
Chassis D = Chevrolet (NR2003) = Mazda (GTP)

b ) see above

Welcome to your first online race!

Sorry but even as a premature test I cannot connect.
When I enter Multiplayer>Join>Config I have to ticle "Find Network Adr A Different Way" to be allowed to enter an IP.
Entering 95.91.143.46 looks OK but above that number another number TC/IP-node 188.183.... resist all efforts to go away.
And when I activate Start I only get the message "Packet CRC Error" + Timed Out...

Advice would be great.
I have included 2 clips from my Core.ini/Player.ini and a pic of my Multiplayer Menu(Edit: I was not allowed to attach a pic).

And this should have been my online debut:-(

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT:
OK I have (a bit ashamed:-) answered one of my own questions:-)
The "another number TC/IP-node 188.183.... resist all efforts to go away."
Haha. It was my own IP adr. So at least this is probably not an error.
But I still cannot connect to the exciting action:-(
BrunoB

By the way. I have pinged 95.91.143.46
And recieved:
Ping statistics for 95.91.143.46:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 60ms, Maximum = 124ms, Average = 76ms

Is that good or bad?

I have been trying to connect but keep getting a packet CRC error, I assume it has something to do with a couple of files. I have installed the carset etc. but may have done something wrong. I will miss this one but would like to sort it in case you have some more races in the future. It's always fun racing with you guys
