Nearly finished? Wasn't the Mexico Olympics in 1968?

In 1969 you'll also find that the half tyres have gone away and been replaced with rumble strips.

But I still have a problem: while all the different versions of the track work flawlessly, the 66 mod crashes the game. I've reinstalled the mod with the original pack (gpl1966_1.0.exe) and with the newest update (1966_Mod_PATCH_v2.0.rar available at the first post of this thread) and I'm running the game in a computer with Windows XP -haven't tried it on Windows 7 yet. Any guess why this happens (I try to run the 1966 version of the Autódromo through GEM+, the screen turns black and the regular "Grand Prix Legends has detected a problem and decided to shut down" with the "Send error report" options underneath).
And I kind of seem happy to, at least temporarily, seem to revived this thread.

If not, go to gpl/mods/gem+ and remove the folder called gpl66
Now go to gpl folder and remove gplc66.exe
After doing the above, apply the 66mod PATCH v2 again.
Start Gem and exit to make a new gplc66.exe.
Good Luck

- rename mexico to something else, for instance mexi68
- adjust the track name directory in your 68season.ini from mexico to mexi68
- rename all files with extentions ending with '69' to their normal extentions, so 369 becomes 3do, m69 becomes mip etc etc.
That should be it

I tried renaming the files with extensions ending with '68' to their normal extensions, but the track
won't load. The main thing I'm after is to get the start/finish to say "MEXICO 68",

Yeah I found that out sometime ago when trying to create a 2nd Oulton Park for the 67 season. Installed dooDAT and I have now created that
2nd Oulton race as well as separate 68 tracks for a 68season.

Success ! Thanks TvO for the tips !

I ended up renaming each individual file that had a corresponding "68" twin. I would then load the track after
each individual renaming. I found a few that would crash it, so I simply would restore out of the recycle bin.
Now I have unlocked the MEXICO 68 lettering at the start/finish.
