Anyone know the story on Paramount Ranch?

I have it from a buddy...but can it be posted?

No notes or author, but what a fun track.
Was it one of the first "over-under" figure 8 tracks?

Paramount Ranch had 7 sports car races during 1956 and 57.

Dan Gurney won the last race in a 4.9 Ferrari but two drivers were killed and that pretty much signed its death
warrant and no races were ever run there again.

Its part of a national park and treated as an historical site along with a western town that was built in the early fifties, otherwise believe me it would have been long gone!

Ive walked the track and the asphalt is still there in some places, a real ghost track!

I hope they give you the go ahead to post it, man Ive been waiting for this...

I hope this is the right place to post this...

Hello, my name is Gabriel and I race GPL at Mybroga Motorsports. I was looking for tracks at the Track Database, and came across Bridgehampton. Downloaded and installed it without problems, and after reading Steve Smith intro I was anxious...just to find that the track was St. Jovite! That's right, the installer is for Bridgehampton, but the files are for the canadian track. Got the gfx update from the Database, and the track changed to Bridgehampton (replaced .dat file), but the track.ini is still the original one, and that means that pits and grid are wrongly placed.

Is there a posibility to put the installer with the correct files for the track?

    Thanks in advance :)

 I just downloaded and installed bridgehampton and got bridgehampton.
Sounds like you've got the files confused. The db points to the authors site and that's where I got the files from. Anybody else getting this problem?

Yes, it was very strange here. The installer also asked me to install the replay for the current WR at time of the release, and I accepted. But it installed me the WR for St Jovite! And on the screen for choosing a track, where it should be the Bridgehampton program cover, it appears St. Jovite's cover, but then it doesn't allow me for load the track. I was only able to join when I put the gfx update.

What I don't understand is how could I get wrong files, when I downloaded .rar file named bhampton, unrared it to a single folder and installed it from there! I installed almost all add-on tracks I have in that way

This is a presumption: After thinking about it, I assume from others' comments over the years, that bhampton was not in fact installed properly. It has happened before (not necessarily on this track but certainly in others) that the dat has been inserted but not named "bhampton.dat" but just plain "dat" with no extension. (Check the folder to see if there is a file named just dat) When you added the addon, that includes a new bhampton.dat that would have asked to overwrite if there had been one already in the folder. I would surmise from your description that either St Jovite was the last track you previously installed or that you placed Bridgehampton under St Jovite with the Season Manager.

I will try to cover the holes of my first explanation about what happened to me  ;)

I installed Bridgehampton, and the folder had the common 9 files, with the bhampton.DAT (yes, it had the extension) included. Now, that .dat file had EXACTLY the same size as stjovite.DAT file in stjovite folder (10,895 KB), the track.ini file inside bhampton folder has the configuration of St Jovite, the replay I got from the Bridgehampton installer is for St Jovite, when I cycle through program covers for selecting the track, where Bridgehampton should be it appears St Jovite cover again (and it was not the previous track I installed, I have 6-7 tracks installed in between), and when I try to load the "second St. Jovite" it throws an error and cancels it.

That is, before I put the update that REPLACED my bhampton.dat of 10,895 KB with another one of 21,536 KB, and added tons of stuff. With the update, I see the real program cover on the track selection menu, I can load it perfectly, but the car is put at the left side of the S/F straight (as St.Jovite, on Bridgehampton pits are in the right side of the main straight).

I propose you the following: can I upload the bhampton.rar I downloaded and give you in a PM the link? So you can see what I'm seeing :)

    Gabriel,
I just downloaded Bridgehampton from the ATDB and all was fine; the file was bhampton.zip (not .rar) and has all the right bits in it, the dat is 22 mega and both track ini and install ini have the right lines in them.

You downloaded something different, I can't know how.
Sure is that the link in the ATDB is the right one.

Glad you find the solution to make the track work :)
For the cars parked on the wrong side, I attach here the track ini file that's included in the original install, put it in your bhampton folder ;)

    Ciao!

Thanks, but I figured it out. I still can't understand what happened, the .rar has the correct file, but when I install the track, it puts the wrong files inside bhampton. Other guys had trouble installing it too, but it was something related to GEM.

Anyway, I managed to get the track working, and that's all that matters :) Thanks everybody for their help

I was looking around this morning and came across indy67rp ( Hoosier 150).

The link goes to "site unavailable".  The other Rick King tracks have SRMZ limks that work.

Possibly because it is an alpha and nobody else has tried to download recently.

Anyway thanks for all the good work and it is summer in UK so do not expect a rushed reponse.
