Why exactly 1946?
The main road along Lake Lunde Sirnes-Tronvik took over the old railway route and thus the oldest possible time (1946) to simulate a fantasy race over these spectacular roads thus contains both old and new road, including the then disused old road over Tronaasen, where quickly grew back with grass and was not used until 1973 as a bypass.
Todays 2010 GPL-version (tronaas) is 13.1 km, most of this has asphalt. The new 1946 version is all over narrow gravel roads, 7 tunnels, some bridges, 12 hairpins and even grass at some parts of the uphill. Hairpin one, is a fantasy turn at the space available graveled up for the occasion, then 8 hairpins uphill and 3 hairpins downhill. Pitlane (fantasy) is in the only possible place that is large enough, a field by Lendemoen that could be done.
The gravel is set to surface type 3/curbs. Short sections have also surfaced type 4 and 5 that are extra slippery. The grip is better than real, and I think the grip fits well to make the track nice to drive.
I can share this GPL-track with the community and expects to be completed during this year.

Here is a demo that focuses mostly on some of how a real road is made in GPL.
