My modest Christmas gift for SRMZ and all GPL community members. My setups can be found here.

=============================================================

GPLRank -83.970 46

Brabham -67.220 32
BRM -52.320 26
Cooper -55.303 31
Eagle -78.353 26
Ferrari -73.238 32
Honda -55.916 27
Lotus -83.539 35

Monster of GPLRank -465.889 24

Unpack this file into your ...\GPL\replay folder. Most replays are 60fps, there might be a few 36fps replays.

Most laps were set in the last couple of years. In some Nürburgring replays I might have put more than 2 tires off track, but generally I always try to stay on track.

Thanks Jake! :)

Remember, setups are personal. I use G25 wheel/pedals at 540 degrees locking, 100% linearity and I have a smooth driving style while trailbraking (left foot braking).

I'm a right-foot braker in these cars so I'll have to do a little tweaking. The suspension is my weak spot with setups anyway so these will certainly help me get closer!

I think I'll start to pursue GPLRank in 2021 as well, so for comparison and performance maximization this package of replays will definitely be very useful. I'm still trying to close in on your records in the BRM and the Lotus around Spa67... I've still got a lot to learn. :)

I find Roberts setups very driveable with tweaks to brake bias and ramp angles. The car will always be lively with his settings, but with these two settings you can tweak that "trait" a bit to your liking.

As I'm a right foot brake with a little (much) skepticism I tried them out at Watkins Glen for my next league race. I just changed the front/rear brake ratio to 54% front and the steering ratio to 5-1 (I use all 900º of my G27), and ...wonderful. With the tanks full for 77 laps the car was very stable and very, very fast. And what surprised me most : very comfortable to drive.
Thank you very much Robert!

3:20.2 BRM Spa67
1:27.2 Brabham Silverstone
1:19.2 Babham Kyalami
1:03.8 Lotus Watkins Glen

All of these times were achieved due to your setups. For some reason I can't come to grips with the older setups from GPL's earlier days, and since I have yet to learn about how the different suspension parts interact with each other, your setups are the best thing that could have happened to me. Very driveable, very quick and very consistent; only aspect I don't always agree on are your tyre pressures, but that's probably induced by my driving.

Well done Lasse! :)

I always say setups are personal, due to different hardware, settings and driving style. However in my experience you can take the suspension and gearings from a setup and then finetune it for your own settings and style.

It pleases me much that my setups and replays help others. And it's great to see younger guys like yourself having a passion for GPL and improve all the time! :)

Well, it is fun to try and improve at something, and guys like you are the reason for me to keep going. If there was no competition that seems almost impossible to beat, my willingness to close up definitey wouldn't be at this level. ;) I still have so much to learn about driving styles... Even with my most recent improvement at Silverstone to a 1:26.91 which I achieved by studying your replay, I am still over a second off! Merging our replays has certainly helped, still I have to learn how to replicate "new" (so to say) driving patterns consistently. I am still way too eager at corner entry and therefore my exits suffer a lot, probably because I am lowkey frustrated with my inconsistency under braking; sometimes I can brake as late as the fastest guys, but more often I just overdo it.
There is so much to learn and I will probably only stop playing when my GPLRank is -100... a.k.a. never. :D And even though the physics are a bit exploitable, especially with the original Papyrus '67s, the driving skills I learn here are applicable to other sims as well.

Also for reference, my hardware only barely allows me to run Assetto Corsa on the very lowest settings, so that factor also contributes to my GPL obsession. But the friendliness and respect that lives within this community make me so happy to be here, so I'm not even sure if other more modern sims are more enjoyable in multiplayer...

GPL forever!
