Hi all, finally made a setup pack for GPL 1967 original tracks. Please read the readme.txt file before asking questions. I might work on an add-on pack, and replay packs. For now you have to request them by mail or in this thread.

Thanks and good luck! :)

Grand Prix Legends 1967 - Original tracks setup pack by Robert Fleurke

Setup code: 67 rf kyalami l49 t19 v2 - 1967 mod, initials, trackdir, chassis, session/year (training 2019), version (2)

Sometimes there are more codes added, like dg(8) (dirtgear patch), or league abbreviation (hies, oao, geli). Also initials like gh2 (Huttu), hi (Itchov), pw (Woodward), lg (Grandis) etc. Late 2019 also used 1911/1912 code (nov/dec 2019). It might seem a bit complicated, but it's mainly for myself to see what setups are newer and more developed.

Note that I did include mostly setups from 2017 and newer. If there's no number behind session, then the setups are pre 2017. The newer the setups, the better and more developed they are. Most often setups are finetuned with help of GPL Setup Manager.

Switched to G25 fall 2017, 540 degrees rotation, 100% linearity, and mostly 8:1 steering ratio. Before that used MSSWFF wheel, 270 degrees rotation, 100% linearity, and mostly around 16:1 steering ratio. Adjust the steering ratio to your hardware and liking, and also brakebias and eventually diff for the power on/off rotation you like.

Thanks to all setup sharers, who helped me with a base to work with: Leonardo Grandis, Greger Huttu, Hristo Itchov and Phil Woodward amongst others.

And many thanks to the whole GPL community keeping this timeless sim alive!

Installation: extract this file into your gpl/players/playername folder.

Feel free to ask me questions, requesting replays (I have most from my GPL Rank times, apart from 1 or 2), or requesting setups for add-on tracks!

Robert Fleurke, April 2020.

Thanks for sharing!

Very interesting to have some insight in the setups of one of the best drivers in GPL.

* I still don't fully understand your throttle use under braking though. :)

Thanks, you're welcome. It's just my driving style evolved like that. Trailbraking helps to stabilize the front a bit, and avoiding turn in understeer. But you can be fast in any way, Carsten Theile has proven that, among others.

It's a shame GPL doesn't show throttle/brake input. Therefore adjust brakebias and diff to your own liking. You then also might want to adjust tirepressures to 25psi all around HOT pressures (works best for me) for best grip, and rollbars for the balance. In general you can use the same suspension setup, IMO.

Thx. :)
Being able to race your setups is an honor. ;)

Your setups have the perfect timing.
I will use it for a beta test race Sunday evening on a new track.

Robert, I have used one of your Brabham 67 race setups for a beta test recently on an track that will "replace" one of the original Papyrus tracks after its release.
I haven't driven the original 67 cars for a very long time, but with your setup it felt good. I only changed the brake bias to 55 % (feels better with my wheel and pedals) and I think I have managed a new PB. :)

Thx again for your pack and explanations.

Interesting!

Yes, I do trailbrake, so often ppl have to adjust the brakebias, and eventually diff. Also set strg ratio to your own liking and hardware ;)

Dumb question as I'm new to this, but you have positive camber (From me driving the Eagle T1G) on the right side usually. Is this due to the track layout mostly going clockwise? That way the car favors turning right more compared to turning left?
