Hello RACER!

Jean-François Bovy (Jieffe) of LBGPL (Ligue Belge de Grand Prix Legends) and Paul Skingley of GPLRACER have organized a new League vs. League race.

This is the race post for the Inter League Race between
LBGPL

The event will take place on the Zolder 1967 track, using the F1 1966 GPL mod (free car choice).

The race server will run at 36 FPS.

The races will run on intermediate settings. Each driver is allowed a maximum of 2 resets (Shift-R). In the event of a reset, irrespective of fault, no stop & go must be performed. Stops may be carried out in the pit lane, it does not have to be in your own pit stall. If you require a reset on the last lap you should complete the lap as normal & 15 seconds is added to your time.

Time: 20:30 CET (German time) / 19:30 GMT (UK time)

Qualification: 30 min.
Race: 45 min.
FPS: 36 FPS (please untick 60 FPS in GEM+)
Damage Model: Intermediate (maximum 2 x Shift-R, no stop & go)

Points Scoring:
For positions 1-19:

30 - 25 - 21 - 18 - 16 - 14 - 13 - 12 - 11 - 10 - 9 - 8 - 7 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1

Extra Points:
-------------
3 Extra Points for each driver who can finish the race, provided you do not finish more than one lap down. You have 2 resets – they may be worth using to score team points.

If we have an uneven number of drivers from each team the numbers will be evened up after the race. E.g. if we had 10 LBGPL and 9 GPLRACER drivers the last placed LBGPL'er won't count.

If we should have a total of more than 19 drivers, we can also run on two servers.
The results of both grids will then be combined to produce the overall winner (points from Grid A + Grid B).

Im not driving this event but its a very interesting concept of league vs league races. Something that maybe could be put into a bigger context in the future maybe? Like a league of leagues thing..

In consultation with LBGPL, we have relaxed the rules somewhat. No stop & go is required.
Maximum 2 x Shift-R, no stop & go.

Thanks all for racing.
I enjoyed the event and I hope we can do a re-match soon.

It was great to see the 2.xx litre cars and 3.0 litre cars evenly split through the grid even if dominated by different types of Brabham. That is one of the things I like about 66 at tracks like Zolder.


We had a very competitive full grid for the race. Despite my best efforts I qualified 10th in the 312 although I felt I had good race pace.

At the start Titi somehow spun in front of me before we reached T1 and then Uli spun in front of me before we got to T2. I could not avoid either of them but I slowed almost to a stop and managed to get away with light contact and losing positions and time.
I passed Doni and caught Eric B but I was surprised when he braked earlier than I expected. I missed him but spun on the brakes.
As I recovered i headed to the right but collected Doni. Luckily we could both continue without reset.

So not the best of opening laps for me but I knew it was a long race and others would make mistakes, so I got my head down and tried to finish as well as I could for the team.

At the flag i finished 6th in thanks partly to my team mates for letting me pass easily as I caught them.


I think GPLRACER have taken the overall win but it was very close and could have gone either way.
Thanks to both teams for taking part.

Looking forward to the rematch :)
