OK, so I used to play GPL a long long time ago. When I found the New Jim Pearson 37 Mil Isle of Man track, I dug out my original CD
I stuck it in and ran the GPLPS GPL Installer and then added the 1.1 build of IOM.
OK so IOM shows up and runs perfectly on my WIN7 64 machine--I have all graphics to high and 1024x768 graphics (Ya its an older WIN and an old monitor)
The problem is WHEN I crash, there is no way to return to pits or start again without doing a hard reset of the computer--it is NOT a CTD, I crash, camera goes to the grey static loss of signal look, but no way to begin again and no way to even escape the game. So a push of the restart on the entire computer is needed.
PLEASE give me an answer--been waiting years and years to run the FULL Isle of Man track
Thanks

Hi Captd.
Have you pressed enter after esc on your keyboard. To get back to the pause menu.
There as been a few crash bugs since development of the IOM track. So do a search on this site and through your browser, for solutions too.
I have the track but have not tried it as yet, so I can't help anymore there. I'm sure someone will be along soon to help out.
Welcome back to GPL 😁👍

CaptD, as TP says above, to return to the pits, press ESC, then ENTER. To reset your car at its current position on the track, press SHIFT + R. If those keypresses don't work, then I would suggest checking your graphics drivers to make sure that they're up to date. But if the display is showing the "static loss of picture", and you can hear the "hissing" sound being played, then the game is still running ok and the keypresses should work.

Ah, Thanks you all so very much for the answer.
I have the original CD,with the frontdisply on the CD case, but thats it, I seem to have misplaced the little pamphlet that came with it ( or so I think I remember it that was) Old age is hell,
Now I can restart when I mess up and crash.
Thanks again, and Thanks to Jim Pearson for years of work, He should get some sort of special gamers award for this wonderful prize
