It all worked before without problem. I had 80+ tracks in my season files and the TC mod worked without any problems - but now, after I reinstalled it, it just crashes.

Can you think of any changes you have made, or the PC as made, between the two install periods.

Would anybody's TC mod files help like ini files or whatever is required. Not sure this would be allowed here 🤔 Maybe you could back up your present GPL and add in the required files, from a member, to get this going. Not sure that would help 🤔

I don't have the TC mod installed so I can't help you there.

Other than that my previous install had a huge mess of files in all folders which should have corrupted the game but didn't, and that this current install is completely clean from a GPL US ISO with the GPLPS 1.08 installer (i used the very same files to install than I had before), no. I can't think of any other changes. Maybe my previous install had something that fixed that, or something like that, but I can't recall.
Usually, this shouldn't even happen in the first place, and since the only thing I really downloaded that can be directly linked to the CTD's being the Thundercars mod archive with the installer exe, I'd suspect that the archive must have some switched or corrupted bit...but then it'd throw a fit when extracting from 7zip.. and since re-installing the TC mod into the same GPL install doesn't help, that'd just strengthen my suspicion. Then again, I'm going to make a separate install just for the TC mod and see if it happens there; if not, then I'll just use a separate TC install. Shouldn't me much of a hassle anyway. If it still crashes, then I'm about at the end of my suggestions.

Hello Pascal,

the Thunder Cars mod does in deed not have the long track support.
That means the TC mod does not work with Targa Florio.
But it does work with the Spa67 addon track.
I have just tested myself.
Atm I have 52 tracks set active and the TC mod loads fine.

That is a really strange problem you have.

If you need any files of the TC mod, just tell me.

Thank you for the offer, Stefan, but I'm going to try out having a separate install first - maybe that'll help. If having a separate install just for the Thundercars doesn't work, and the thing keeps crashing, I'll get back at you.

Of course, I'd like to be able to compare my Thundercars installation with one that works flawlessly, just to see if there are any files corrupt or not. It could really be anything, from the menu layout to the exe itself - who knows. I can't tell because the game just crashes without any error message.

Anyway, I'll need to re-download the Thundercars installer and then we'll see.

Actually it will be difficult to only give you all TC files of my installation. Somes specific ones would be fine, but not all, as there are too many files and I don`t know which belong exactly to the TC mod.

The easiest way is to install the TC mod over your existing installation. Then all TC files will be overwritten and if there should be corroupted ones they will get overridden.
If you still get the problem I would try a new seperate install of GPL and then install the TC mod on it.

Exactly what I just said I'm doing to see if it still causes the problem  ^^

Hmmmmmmmmm.... For now, (I hope I'm not jinxing it by writing this) the game works. I only have 18 track folders in my GPLTC install (basically all those without DATs installed by the 1955 mod are not in the TC install folder) and all 18 are in the 67season.ini (created and edited by GEM+, thus I predict they're written with UTF-8 encoding. I'm really not sure what the fuss about the encoding is about, my game always worked with as many tracks as I wanted and with UTF-8)
and the game works. It boots up fine, with just the TC mod installed; so I'd just assume that my problem seems to be solved for now.

If it returns, I'll get back at y'all. Thank you for your help anyway!
