can you tell more about " it doesn't integrate well with the other mods " ?
It has to do with how I enjoy racing sims, which harks back to how I enjoyed real world driving - actual racing probably accounts for no more then ten percent of my track time ...I just love driving. I enjoyed taking a high performance car on the track on T&T days as much, if not more, than racing; the world disappeared, it was me, the car, and the track ...and the days were much too short.
In racing sims I typically pick a sim, pick a mod, pick a car, pick a track, and start driving. A couple of times a month I may race (which usually leads to AI tweaking again, especially in simbin titles, eventually I notice all my time is spent tweaking and I haven't turned a lap in days).
The '67 Historic mod does not lend itself to this style; it replicates a very specific group of cars for a very specific group of tracks in a very specific order, you can't just fire up one of the exes and run a race at Road Atlanta or Machwerk; to me it is a separate game. Hence a separate install just for these cars and these tracks (and hence my question in another thread if the last group of cars in this mod, representing the end of the season, could be used as a standalone alternative to the default cars). A separate install also reduces clutter; the Historic mod is basically seven small independent mods, I already have seven mods in my main GPL install; less chance for an incipient geezer to accidentally cross something up and have to reinstall.
