CRANK is Groundhog Weekly's alternative to GPLRank. Register, submit your lap times, build your ranks.

At the moment your can find eight highlighted ranks on the site. One for each mod except 1967, which has 1967 F1 GPL (the good old rank with the 11 original papyrus tracks) and 1967 F1. This later one contains Spa 1967 (spa67) instead of Spa (spa), Le Mans Bugatti (bugatti) instead of Rouen (rouen), Mosport Rain (mosprain) instead of Mosport (mosport). I'm not sure about Monacane. Should I change Monaco to Monacane? Never drove that track, and as I recall it was never promoted as a more realistic Monaco, was it?

The other notable rank is 1967 F2 GPL. No Sudshcleife at the moment so as a best replacement I put Nurburgring Nordshcleife (nurburg) into the list. Once Sudschleife will be released I set up (or anyone can set up) a correct 1967 F2 rank.

1965 F1 contains Clermont, 1969 F1 contains Charade.

1971 CA contains Elkhart Lake (elkhart), though it needs a converter to use in GPL.

Great , you can even place Beta track laptimes , this is a blessing for one of my favourite track DONINGTON PARK 37 .

You should try on Weekly [Pit In], then click on Crank Beta in the menu bar. (Groundhog drivers don't need to register, they got a Crank account by default.)

Jani, it looks very nice. Excellent graphic. May be I have been too fast in looking at it, but I thought to find the option to choose my own set of tracks for my own rank definition. I also miss GPL67 and real life best laps as benchmarks. Was there the intention, or did I misunderstand?

After registration click "Build a rank" on the menu bar and follow the instructions. We have 136 tracks available for rank building. In a few days 517 tracks will be available.

No classic benchmarks. All drivers are compared to the overall fastest driver on the selected rank. (I thought about listing Perfect Guy with calculated best lap times, but dropped the idea.)

It's beta version right? in future when will be in devinitive version will be possible to change the nickname? I writed Lale instead Lalethor, or maybe my real name

Jani, thanks for your reply. Yes indeed I did not register yet. Could I ask you why you dropped the idea of listing the best real life lap per track/mod? I understand it can be a lot of work, but I think it would be useful and challenging to provide a permanent benchmark to the driver.

I never intended to use real life lap times. Groundhog Rank (based on our league results) has a few years history and always felt perfect to compare to our best lap times.

Finding real lap times for 500+ tracks (or let's say just 100 real tracks) multiplied by 7 or more mods would be an awful lot of work. Plus you would have lot of tracks where you could not find lap times for all mods. Do we have Monza Can-Am lap time for example? Maybe but I don't think so. Real lap time would be a restriction for this system.

Got the first spam so the registration was slightly changed. Now you are asked to type a valid GPL year during the sign up. That's not a difficult task for a human -- or an alien

Tried to upload player.ini last night and twice got "unsupported file" error.
Apparently something is wrong with my file.
Do not know how it got messed up or even that it could be, (hadn't looked at it for years).

Just make a new one and paste the track entries in for the tracks I want to post times on?
Guess I will try and find out.

Ah...do I have to build a rank, or can I just upload times to a rank?

PS - Don't think using Monocane for 1967 F1 Rank is a good idea because the line thru the chicane is entirely unrealistic, (jmho). See here: https://srmz.racesimcentral.net/inde...240#entry106995

You can upload the following files:

player.ini
plac65.ini
plac66.ini
placf2.ini
placGT.ini
plax69.ini
pl71CA.ini

Any other file will give you the unsupported message.

If you generate ini from GPLRank, rename the file according to the selected mod, and upload it.

Latest addition is Smart rank: Countries - a rank based on the most popular tracks in the selected country.

I've added the Challenge and Historic Ranks, for continuity with GPLrank. This has allowed me to correct the intrigue of Albi 67 being originally replaced by Road 67! Brands 67 and Zeltweg 71 also replace older versions. Road Atlanta can be updated to Road Atlanta 71, once more lap times have been set there in 67 cars. I might add Boggle rank too eventually !

Now you can change your display name in the Control panel on "You" page.

I've re-uploeaded the .ini file and now it's ok
