After month of inactivity I wanted to do some more GPL racing. I fired up GEM +2 only to get the following message:
An error has occured from which GEM + cannot recover. When you click the OK button a file will be created containing information to help solve the fault.
I have clicked OK but still waiting for my file (now 20 minutes on). Does anyone have an idea what might be the problem here?
Thank you in advance!

I experienced that a while back, reinstalling GEM, over the original install, cleared it up (I'm thinking some registry entry was corrupted or deleted).

I had GPL.EXE disappear (unless I had somehow erroneously done it myself) which gave me that error. All I had to do was copy back in the GPL.EXE from my backup.

I re installed GEM over the existing install but that didn't work. I then deleted GEM and dit another re install, did'nt help either.
I'm afraid it has something to do with the register of Windows 7 as I have more register problems at the moment.
If I ever find the solution I will post it here. Will take some time I'm afraid....

Just had this happen to me under the same circumstances. Haven't had time to play for a while and come back to this. Lucky for me I have a backup copy on another drive which works. The problem is if I copy my backup copy to my main drive, it gives the error message again. If I run it from the backup drive all is fine. Any ideas?
