Hi guys,

Inspired by the discussion with Gammaworx, i decided to finish and release the new flagmen that i started to create some years ago.
It's not easy to have working flagmen and a good render for the "waving and hold" textures which need to be in 16 colors/4bit.
I think the result is good and looks better that the previous old update by Keeper.

Attached File  flagmen.jpg   193.89K   835 downloads

Description :
--------------

- new starter flagman with orange suit and a big flashy green flag for a good visibility
- new flagmen with orange suit and big flags for a good visibility
- new checkered flagman with a yellow safety vest, red cap and also a big flag

Textures are in 16bit or 4bit and 256x256px.

Installation :
-------------

Get the zip file HERE
Extract the content of the zip in your SIERRA\gpl\objs folder.

Happy new year everyone ! :partytime:

Very sweeeeeet Jackseller! Thank you very much!

I always like your works and I will use them for sure!

Just a little question : Did Flagmen used to wear this kind of suit in the 60's?

And a litte request now : Please, can I publish some textures you released for my Cooper T81 cockpit update?

FANTASTIC!!!! They look very good, thanks a lot!
Maybe you can make a set of flagmen with historic textures, too? :yipee2:

My main goal was to make them as visible as possible.
According to wikipedia, high visibility clothes started to be used in 1964. So i think it's credible to use them for the flagmen, even if it's probably not historically accurate. And i took care to create them without wearing headphones and helmets of course.

Dede-driver : no problem for the Cooper ;)

JACK ....I REALLY LIKE THE CHECKERS GUY...  :bravo:   (SIDE NOTE) ... I BELIEVE  HISTORICALLY, RADIO COMMUNITCATION  WAS BEING USED BY F1 TRACK OFFICIALS AND SAFETY CREWS ONLY...  IN THE 67 - 75 ERA

Twinpotter ,

Screensaver link is fixed :) .

The link pointing to backgrounds from Bruce stuff's seems to be definately dead... so i removed it.

Thank you! :D

I still think that Keeper's flagmen are more historically accurate and better suited for offline races (and so I do not like the fact that link for download has been deleted, it should be still avalaible) but this is for sure better suited for online racing. They are more visible and they'll come in handy when we race together :D safer, I think :)

happy new year :fireworks1: :fireworks1:
