I like this '60s layout probably as I dislike the "modern" one.

Very classic but a bit understimate imho, maybe due to its "easy", flat and someway anonymous nature.

So now to the point. Along the years I've never found a really satisfaying AI for this track (that doesn't means automatically that not exist, of course), so finally I've decided to spend a couple of days on it.
Now the AI cars are more suited for my taste: less aggressive, don't go too wide over the grass at every point, don't brake so hard and try to overtake as kamikaze at the Stowe corner.

I upload it here, for the two or three person around the world that want to give it a try. Includes newspaper pic and updated cams as well.

Thanks very much, improvements are needed especially at Stowe!

I notice you do not have a track.ini for 65, 66 etc - is it possible to look at these as well? Are they needed to get the most from your changes?

I don't want to appear greedy, I'm just excited.

It's always good to have proper AI. I spend most of my time hotlapping and racing against AI, so this work is much appreciated :)
Regarding the track, i like both, modern and old, but like more the old one. I also think it's understimate.

Don't worry about asking mate. :)

I've added only a specific track.ini for 67 season 'cause I've made and tested the AI with these cars. Anyway the track.ini is basically the original, just changed a couple of lines and surely it does not affect too much the AI's behaviour as having specific .lp files for every different mod (but surely I can't charge myself with this commitment, sorry).

That said, without testing is quite fast and easy to do specific .inis at least with the correct fuel load for each car, tomorrow I will do them for the mods I have installed, that are 65, 69 and Sportscars (of course the values for 67 means that 65 cars have enough fuel but are heavyier, instead 69 and GT will easily run out of fuel within few laps, so I will correct them accordingly with my "self-made and not so precise" calculation tables).

Before forgetting, thanks to all for appreciation and nice comment. Now I'm tired and go to sleep, see you soon.

So as promised I'm here to make emends.

Not tested yet. Feel free to adjust the values inside (i.e. dlong_speed_adj_coeff and so) to your needs/tastes, as doing other specific track.ini for your mods. Since I cannot test everything some feedback will be very appreciated, thanks.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

- track's customized driver.ini (if any) will affect AI perfomances and behaviour for sure, so please take this in account.

- mod's specific .lp files (if any) will override the new ones: in this case backup existing ones, then copy and rename the new ones to have them working (i.e. race.lp to race.lgt for GT mod), or simply remove the specific .lps and leave only the default ones.

Hope this may help a bit.

I just ran a 24 lap race against 19 AI cars in the 65 mod using your files. It worked really well, I could actually fight them into Stowe. Qualified 15th and finished 5th using the Cooper. Very happy!

Thanks Tato

This track is good but not accurate. I think that it´s time to release an historical version, like the upcoming "new spa" that is to be seen in the network.  The Papy track is very inaccurate, but yes, it looks good, but the turns are very pronounced; the original had a much wider turns in the middle of the track, and is much wider in general. I would improve the cars physics too, in order to get an reliable and accurate car behaviour.

Thanks! Although, you've spoiled my fun a bit because Maggots was the only corner where I was always faster than the AI!

Hi Jonny, you may use the previous version if you prefer of course. Anyway, don't worry, I'm not a fast driver too.

Glad to know that my poor 2 cents can be useful for other drivers too. :)

Povegliano Veronese near Villafranca di Verona, to be precise, so is south.

Tato, your V2 AI has now made Silverstone my absolute favourite track to race the AI cars ... absolutely amazing!  Their behaviour is less erratic and I now feel much more confident trying to outbreak them.

:thankyou: :thankyou: very much!  I would love to try your AI for other tracks too, if you are willing to share. :Ssanta:
