Just a quick question from a GPLRank noobie: what do you think is the best track to work on first?
Also what order do you think I should try them in - easiest to hardest.

I think I am a not-so-bad driver, so I hope my list is accurate and helpful.
From easiest to hardest, in my humble opinion, GPL Rank-ly talking :
1 Watkins Glen - Simple track as such, you just need to know two braking spots, three right-handers and the esses
2 Monza - Two hard braking points, one "brake blip", four "real" corners plus Vialone usually flatout with a balanced setup. No real difficulty, except for the braking into Parabolica.
3 Spa - Might be personal opinion, I've driven the track so much in recent weeks, I know every inch of it. May be harder for less experienced drivers
4 Silverstone - A well balanced car is mandatory in order to make it through all left handers unscathed. If you like sliding the rear, you'll love all right handers !
5 Mexico - Those esses are fun. Espiral (T1) is probably the hottest spot on this track. Be careful not to slide into the barrier there,
6 Rouen - Straight forward track, the only harder spot is the braking for Nouveau Monde. But making it through the first three corners without putting a wheel off always helps lap times.
7 Monaco - Slow doesn't always mean easy and Monaco is a proof
8 Mosport - Quick track, watch your a** in T1 and T2. Be careful not to bin it in T4 to keep momentum for Moss. Then mind your landing just before braking into T7. One of the most technical parts of any track in the game.
9 Zandvoort - Get your corner sequences right and you're all set. I have yet to master the track, even after 8 years. I'm actually quicker with F2s than F1s lol.
10 Nordschleife - Self explanatory. Only Kyalami's benchmark time makes it harder than the Green Hell.
11 Kyalami - Mike Laskey is an amazing driver to say the least ! Good luck beating his time, I did only once in 8 years ! Tehre are not many corners, but you have to get them spot on.

Funny thing is the first one I tried was Kyalami because it's the first one in the track list! I'm still like 5 seconds off!

As a fellow noobie I'd say:
1 Monza - Best place to develop a setup that works for you on all other tracks with some tweaks, nice and simple and flat.
2 Nordschliefe - OK it's the most difficult track, but the sooner you start really learning it the better
Don't focus on it just yet but do a few laps as often as possible
3 Watkins Glen - Fun and straightforward
4 Silverstone - If you've developed a good setup at Monza and have got your braking right this should be pretty easy. Although judging the entry to the fast corners take practice
5 Kyalami - I found this track pretty easy, great fun and can really chuck the car about
6 Rouen - Couple of tricky bits but generally OK
7 Zandvoort - Bit tricky to learn as it all looks a bit samey, but fun once you're used to it
8 Spa - I find this track really annoying, should be really simple. Laps take ages and the slightest mistake and you lose a load of time down the long straights
9 Mosport - All a bit tricky with off camber and general jumpyness. Fun though
10 Mexico - First corner is very tricky if you're heeling and toeing / right foot braking. Getting the esses right takes time as there seems to be lots of different lines to take
11 Monaco - I'm starting to go faster here but I don't know how. Get into a rhythm and the lap times come down, but if I think about it too much it seems to go badly wrong
Definitely start at Monza, there's no better place to develop a basic setup to use everywhere else (the default setups are a bit rubbish in my opinion). You should end up with a setup with good traction and not too much understeer, and you should be able to steer the car with the throttle around the Curva Grande. Focus on getting good exits from the corners, then you can start braking earlier and earlier and carrying more speed.
Kyalami seems to have a lot of grip maybe because the camber of the track helps cornering. But in my (fairly limited) experience a setup developed here is less successful on other tracks.
