Dirtgearpatch

I did a little test, with the same setup I used with Pitstop 5 at Interlagos73 (this track has many left as well right turns, however the RF tire will be loaded the most, highest temps). With Pitstop 3 (pitstop_1.3) the wear is definately balanced out, I did experience more wear overall though (could have been my driving, but I think it's the tire model/patch). Like 12 12 after 2 laps. Balanced front/rear and left/right at this track.
Couldn't reproduce the jump in rear wear that happened in a test before the funrace, when driving from grass over the kerb without wheelspin...
So far I think I like Pitstop 3 better, but I need to test/use it at more different tracks to give more feedback. As you said, most tracks are clockwise, and the left tires wll be loaded the most, leading to more wear to the left side. (I suppose then you also need to adjust the brakebias left/right to keep stable braking).
I'm very busy preparing for leagueraces (that don't use your patch), but I might be interested to join in a some EOLC funraces if possible and if my schedule allows it. I want to give your work/patch a proper chance, because I like the idea and it adds some different spice to GPL.
Thank you Olaf

It's possible. Please register at EOLC and do your application for the race(s) you want.
Next races with the patch:
14-09-14 Mount Panorama
12-10-14 Lime Rock
09-11-14 Assen
07-12-14 Panchine
Before the summer break we used pitstop3. I think for the races after the summer break we'll use pitstop6(dg). This version I will publish in this week. Pitstop6(dg) will have a new - I hope well ballanced - tire wear code. The new tires will be more stable in case of normal driving, but these tires amiss thinks like V turns, burn outs and so on more then the earlier versions.
Generelly these tires will be more in dependency from driving style.
Best Regards
Olaf

To be clear, this patch is only for online use?
Does on-the-fly brake balance adjustment work with AI mode?

Brake ballance and all Features like tire wear, dirt effekt an so on works On- and Offlline, but it works only for human players.
So it is possible to race with the patch against computer cars, but it makes no scene I think, because CC have no wear effect, do no pitstops and so on.

Like to try in-car brake balance.
Looking forward to 6.
Sorry took so long to notice this.

Congrats for this patch! I couldn't try it yet, but seems very interesting. Does it work on mods, or it is exclusive for original 1967 cars?
Cheers, Marcos.

Like I say in the lat days tire wear is more determnated by drivg style. With normal driving less tire wear effect. But V-turns, aggressive starts and full throttle driving over high cubs, etc. become more tire wear - in extremly case it damaged the tire(s).
Pitstop_Patch was developed for normal GPL.Because the pitstop projekt is a "one man show" I haven't the time to test MODs. But I have heard it should work principially with MODs, but likely the wear effect is too less or to big.

It seems that the files in the pitstop6(dg).7z fie are pitstop5 files. Can you check it out for us.
Cheers,

-two tire types for the same server avaible
-pitstop3 und pitstop6 tires
-pitstop3+ tires are 25% more stable than old pitstop3 tires
-simply change xml file to change the tire types
-refueling in case of ShiftR
-randomly self repairing of gear failure in mode INT LONG during racing after a longer time, especially made for longer races
Best Regards

I think this is one of the reasons that prevent that our league (Mybroga) still doesn't use it...
BTW congrats for such an incredible work!
Cheers, Marcos.

You and your league people know that the patch installs 60fps automatically? I can't still find a reason to drive gpl with 36fps .
Mcmirande, you are the only one who have shown any interest on the patch in the last month.
If I'll be aware of more interest in an 36fps version I'll th nk about an 36fps special version.

We have nothing against 60fps at all, but a couple of drivers still have (very) old computers and the 60fps patch doesn't work good for all of us. That's the single reason. Before you start working in it I could do some poll within Mybroga to evaluate if that investing of time is reasonable...
Edit: Just to clarify my mind. The pitstop patch includes features of the dirtgear and dirtweargear patches, isn't it? If not, which are the features of each of those patches?
I think most people in Mybroga would like to race with the patch but without gear failure. Until I understand, in that case it's just matter of racing in int-short mode. Am I right?
Thanks!
Marcos
