Hello,

at first excuse my english. Im not born in England...

Hopeful I watched Brrs test MOD project. Unfortunately in the last month nothing happens.
At sometime I had an idea: Maybe I can do anything in the same tendency like Brr.
My intention is not exact Brrs intention. No ShiftR only in the pits...but adding a new mode to gpl, a mode between INT und PRO. ShiftR ist possible, but with harder consequences as cold tyres.
It is made especially for PRO fans, they say: "In this times of less participatients there is to boring to drive with ten people or so and five of them are out of the race after five laps."
Also my Patch is made to bring more variations into the races.

Now this work is done.
The mode add two things to GPL.

1.  Gear failure
ShiftR create a gear failure. After ShiftR a gear don't work correct.  Which gear is randomly.
2. Dirty tires
The Patch makes hot tyres if you drive into the dirt.

The patch works On- and Offline. But you can join not on an normal server (this is made on purpose to make it unpossible to mix normal GPL and the patch).
Special informations about the patch you find here: https://www.eolc.de/b...did=5&styleid=1
At the moment - if you have any interest - you can test it at server EOLC4 (or offline).
Before I finish the post big thanks to Brr for your inspiration!

This is the released version (pitstop7+(dg) .
You find it here  https://www.eolcreplay.de/download/

I think the website is safe, but you can download the patch directly:
https://www.eolc.de/O...tstop63 (dg).7z

Changes in version 7:

The amout of wear is choosable in dependency from gpl mode:
Mode GP: now the sensibility of the tires is only a quater from the old pitstop3+ tires (you can run a two hour race without a pitstop)
Mode LONG: the sensibility of the tires is 200% of the tires in mode GP (you can run an one hour race without a pitstop)
Mode SHORT: the sensibility of the tires is 200% of the tires in mode LONG = 400% of mode = the same amount of wear like pitstop3+ tires before.

only one tire type again (pitstop3+ tires), unpopular pitstop6+ tires are cancelled.

Tire changing and repairing the car are different things now. The pitcrew eighter change the tires OR repair the car.
You inform your pitcrew what they have to do by the gear you choice if you stand at their pit:
Reverse gear = repairing of the car
All other gears (neutral too) = changing tires
If you want to do both you have to wait the double time (2*15s)

engine failure (engine less power) and a suspension problem on the front (both can be repaired at the pit), no more problem with (flat) tires
gear failure is unmodified (this will not be repaired at the pit)

I have added an equitable version without brake ballance adjustment.

-Automatic reset of gear values through Esc Enter and reentering the track after ShiftR in practice
-Add 36fps version

Regards Olaf

Hi Olaf,
It sounds interesting. I will give it a test on the weekend.

Hello,

any weeks before I have do some corrections. No more increasing grip with cold tires at the beginning of the race and some fine tuning.
We use the patch (version21) in a cup. Next race is on 14th of april...
The link to eolc forum and to the patch you find in the post above.

The other thing is: In the last weeks I have added to the patch another feature: tire wear and the possibility to choice between soft and hard tires (the check box for asymmetrical editing is used for that).
The wear effect is determinated from the wheelspin of the wheel. Braking with standing wheels or hard wheelspin under acceleration reduces the grip time after time.

At the end it should be so that driving with soft tires till one hour races is better, races longer than one hour hard tires are better. It's hard to tune the wear effect so, because any driver have a different driving stile and setup. So I need exact informations how much the wear effect is in your case.
I have changed Brr's "new" pribluda. If you change the normal pribluda.dll with the pribluda .dll in the patch folder the inside contact patch tire temps shows the wear values.

Here is a link to the wear included (beta) version3 of the patch https://www.eolc.de/O...nn/dirtgear3.7z

In the readmes you find more informations.

I hope anyone have any interest.

Best regards Olaf

Hello,

dirtweargear_Patch have a bug. The wear effect works only at version 1.2.0.2, NOT in version 1.3.
But now there is a newer version with the change to make pitstops ready:

https://www.eolc.de/Olaf_Lehmann/pitstop.7z

Pitstop_Patch have:

-More wear effect than the soft tires in dirtweargear
-only one tire type but you can do pitstops to change the tires after a waiting time from 14 seconds (it’s a relative long time, because there is no speed limit in the pits)
to make pitstops you must do the same what you do if you have get a penalty from gpl. Drive to your pitboard. When it hides hold on and wait. If you stand on the right place the car make a little jump (like if you do ShiftR). When the tire changed the car jumps too. You see it in pribluda also: The tire temps go back to 295 Kelvin.
-you can’t refuel the car in the race.
-the tire temps don’t go back to 295 Kelvin if you do ShiftR. It happens only if you change the tires in the pits
-you can change brake ballance during driving (see below)
-in setup menu you can change chamber and tire pressure in smaller steps
-if you drive into dirt the grip decreases more than in dirtgear21
-if you do ShiftR you get a flat tire on the front, that will be changed if you do a pitstop
-the gear failure feature from dirtgear21 is reduced:
In mode INT SHORT you get no gear problem (it’s made for fun races).
In mod INT LONG you get a gear problem at the second, the third, the forth…ShiftR, but no more at the first ShiftR.
-the gear failure procedure is in pitstop_Patch better than before. Now you can’t get a gear failure you do not ShiftR.
-a changed pribluda.dll that draws the actual brake ballance and tire wear values. It’s testet with the “oglv2 Pribluda”

HOW YOU CAN USE BRAKE BALLANCE?

In DirtWearGear it's possible to change the brake ballance during driving (in front-back and left-right direction).
Please use the "Lift arm" and "Draw pit board" buttons (see picture).
Posted Image
You can change these in Menu/Steering (steering wheel buttons are possible).
The two buttons working in combination with the driven gear (see table).

Driven gear >=4: Changing brake ballance in front/back direction
Driven gear <=3: Changing brake ballance in left/right direction

See readme for more details!

Best regards
Olaf

New version (pitstop2_Patch) with these changes:

-Dirt effect is much more realistic and has nothing more to do with tire temps. So the loosing grip normalisize much faster as in the first version of pitstop_Patch.
-Dirt effect only if you are on the road, not in the dirt. If you are in the dirt gpl reduces the grip itself. It'  enough.
So it's easier to leave the dirt.

-The measure of the flat tire is variable. If you make ShiftR on short tracks like Watkins Glen you get a complete flat  tire, on longer tracks you get only a "partly flat tire" (you loose only pressure).
But in difference to the first version of pitstop_Patch the flat tire will be more flat if you do the second ShiftR before  in the same lap (before you do a pitstop).
-The adjusting of the brake ballance works slower than in first pitstop_patch.
-Now adjusting for brake ballance is friendly to new users: In default you can change only in front/back direction. If you  will change left/right direction too, you must change this by yourself, see ReadMe.
Now you find the changing value at the beginning of the xml file.
-now the changed pribluda based on pribluda version 1.1.2.1 (because these version works with direct3d new rasterizer and ogl old and new rasterizer)

Olaf

Hello,

two small improvements:

1. The recording of the tire temps after ESC/Enter works now like in normal gpl.

2(only for user of pribluda). Now the colour of the wear values draws the dirt effect.
green = clean tires, no dirt effect
yellow = dirty tires.
See picture:Posted Image

I think it's the last brick in the wall - äh...at the dirtgear/pitstop_project.

Does this work on other GPL mods? It works on 65 but the pitstop won't work somehow.

The patch is made for normal gpl 60fps online races. I haven't test it with other MODs.

Today I test the MOD65.
All works, the pitstop technologie too.
But selfmade the AI ars make no pit stops. The patch is made for ONLINE races only.

Changes in pitstop3:
Dirt effekt is more realistic than before.
Now the colouring for dirt effect in pribluda is more different.
The pribluda.dll that works for the most people (the version that was under the link “AlternativePRIBLUDA” before is in the program folder now). The pribluda.dll that based on Version 1.1.2.1 (date 2010/07/02) you can find in the subfolder “PRIBLUDA1121_old”.
A small – but important - changing on special ShiftR code.

Thank you, fajanko!

I hope I meet you or other interested people on the server.
Most time are running server EOLC1 (with the next track that will be driven official in EOLC) or EOLC4 (with some original GPL tracks) or both with the Patch.
I know 15 years after gpl release it's not easy to meet some other people on the server...
Maybe you should participate to an official EOLC race (Porto at 2013/11/10 or Riverside at 2013/12/08). To do that it's necessary to register at EOLC only, it's easy...

Best Regards
Olaf
