Dear Mike, for its first two races at Zandvoort and Spa (and also at Silverstone on Hill"s car if I remember well), the Lotus 49 had a non-transparent windshield. It is only at Le Mans-Bugatti that the transparent one was introduced. GPL's lotus 49 is modeled  for the transparent windshield, nevertheless with Chris (silence) we tried our best to paint it ... as it should, to make the carsets of Zandvoort and Spa as realistic as possible.

I have to question the objects in mirrors. In some of the cars I can't see anything behind me. This doesn't make for safe racing. Has anybody actually sat in these cars to see the view in the mirrors? I find it hard to believe they couldn't see the cars behind them in real life. The mirrors are stuck out pretty wide on the cars, and even though you could see the rear tire, and some of the engine/suspension. I still think they could see the car behind them. They could also move their head to see around objects that we can't do in a sim without Trackr.

I'm all for being realistic, but not to the point of making unsafe racing.

My .02

I was wondering just the same as Pete....I never sat in these cars, but in some mods the mirror is almost filled with the rear-wheel, engine and so on.

Admire all the work done so don't get me wrong  :)

To me you would only see a little piece of the rear-tire and suspension...but again I never sat in these cars ;)

After several MOD comparison....this one isn't bad at all !!

Hans

Yes, of course. All you need is to copy the historical  drvc67 which is in the _AI folder of your spa67 track folder and paste it in the track folder.  See here: https://srmz.racesimcentral.net/inde...showtopic=10449  ;)

Yes Hans, it's that one. Then, don't forget to select the historical carset 04-BEL (see Michel's screen). When you want to reverse to the original gpl67 carset, remember to delete the drvc67 from the spa67 folder.

P.S.: I am 54, and I am always gentle with who is kind with me. :D

I'm sorry, but being 56 won't get you off. I'm 72, and i'm hardly the oldest GPLer. :)

Question about AI-files (pavel) ....can I use those with this Historical Mod ??

Or leave it the way it is ??

Thanks

Hans  :)

Hans, there is no harm between the two things. Each historical carset provides a file called drvc67, with the list of AI drivers with some index of their performances and associates them to each car modelled in the carset. That file has to go in any track folder where you want to race with that specific carset. Pavel's (and other authors) files, are track specific files (track.ini and *.lp) which characterize the trajectories, location and distance for overpassing and also speed of the AI on that specifc track. :)
