Have been really enjoying the great Tasman Carsets of Grand Prix Legends the last few days & learning the great
tracks of that series. Wow, Lakeside67 in the 65 Tasman Cars is probably one of the best racing
against Ai I have ever had. After a daily Grand Prix Legends junkie for 18 months now I really goofed by not checking
this out sooner. :hithead:

Here are some Race Reports from Tasman Cup 68 to enjoy :

Time to learn some more about this great Series in Grand Prix Legends ! :bowdown2:

I think if you hunt around you can probably find the whole '68 Surfers Paradise race, unedited, just as it was shown live. Video is about 1 hour long and has loads of useful detail that helped with making the track for Grand Prix Legends.

I once had that video of the 1968 Surfer's Paradise race, but lost it when my external hdd broke. Wonderful racing series with many big names in motor racing and I'm glad someone made a carset for it.

Thanks Dave very interesting indeed :hat-tip: Love the Tasman series carsets too.Very addictive indeed! Had a search for the full surfers paradise film but no joy.But on a side note found a link with some interesting video. On video tab page 5 a shell film of Hermann lang going around the Ring in an old mercedes with some commentary from Graham Hill.I even educated myself as I found out that the little carrousel on the ring track is called the swallow tail which I never knew :hithead: Lots more videos on  the site too just in case nobody as  come across the site before.Motorsport retro!

And very exstensive !  Five different seasons of drivers & cars to race with on the exisiting Tasman Tracks & add your own to complete
a season ( I've used South African Tracks to substitute.) makes this almost a whole new  " Tasman Legends "
or " Grand Prix Legends PT 2. "
Amazing ! :checkeredflag:

ed76 , here is my Tasman / South African Cup Schedule set to 1967 F1 scoring system :

1.Levin
2. Wigram
3. Lakeside
4. Mt. Panorama
5. Sandown
6. Surfers Paradise
7. Adelaide (67)
8. Killarney
9. East London
10. Roy Hesketh
11. Kyalami

thinking about switching Mark Beckman's fantasy Diamante track to add another New Zealand track,
instead of  Bathurst or Adelaide. :hat-tip:

Ardmore Aerodrome ( New Zealand )  is also an option for a Tasman Track. The Track Database says it was the
birthplace of the Tasman Series.

if you want to "disguise" some tracks to  "Tasman" (ex: I took Issoire as Teretonga and Ibla with an update as Pukekohe )
I make some covers :

:cool4:

Thanks ed76 a complete Tasman Cup schedule ! ( Not Historically correct. )

New Zealand Races

1. Levin
2. Wigram
3. Issoire ( Teretonga )
4. Ibla ( Pukekohe )
Alternate :  Ardmore Or ( New  60's version )  Diamante

Australian Races

5. Lakeside
6. Sandown
7. Surfers Paradise
8. Panorama
Alternate: Adelaide

Edit : Issoire track has more of a 1980's  feel to it with the Armco & Curbing there. I prefer Ardmore or New ( 60's ) Diamante
IMHO .   : - )
