    Hello GPLers,

Well, it hasn't been easy to select the sounds I was going to use for the mod 65 amongst all those I've edited, but it was time to finally take a decision! I can still release more of them in the future anyway... So, here they are !  :)

    Birth of my edited sounds:

What always amazes me when I watch videos of those old F1 cars it's the incredible NOISE these little engines are making.
Just watch this video to see what I mean !

A long long time ago, I started to edit sounds for my own use (in this case for the mod 65) and because I started to obtain good results (for my taste), I tried to see how far I could go with each sound I could find.
Unfortunately, after hundreds of "naming and renaming" of the files, I've lost the trace of the original sound makers. I wasn't "aware" I could edit something decent for a share, one day ! I'm sorry !

My aim was to create very "animal" and aggressive sounds, with a pronounced "growling" effect at different RPM, and I really focused all my attention to try to re-create the ambiance and the immersion we could have from INSIDE the cockpit, the place where we all love to spend time ! Those who are using a handshift should be happy with the result also...
The sounds have been edited and tweaked to be played on external speakers only, mainly in cockpit view and...LOUD ! lol.
I can't guarantee they will sound good or won't tire your ears if you use a headset...

    Notes:

    - If you're not "a sound wizard", it's very important to set your sound panel correctly. Most sound drivers are also using "presets" you should select wisely because they can have a big impact on how the sounds will be played on your speakers.
    - I wouldn't say my sounds are "authentic" but I could say they are "plausible"...
    - The sounds are all in stereo and "stable", at least on my sound system. I seldom hear "problems" with them.
    - I advise you to go on the East London track for the tests because "the range" of the RPM is rather complete on such a track.
    - I would have prefered to create my own sounds from scratch but I still don't know how to make them.
    - My way to work is rather "empirical", based on a lot of trials and errors. I have NO knowledge about how a sound is really made of in fact ! lol

    Program used:

I mainly used Audacity and Wavosaur (with "VST" pluggins), both free !

    Credits:

I really want to precise that I'm NOT the maker of the original sounds I've used, I've just edited them "for my taste".
The original sounds are coming from all the famous sound makers anyway, like Speed Eraser, Dukeminier, Tifo, Jeroen, Van Gossum... and our dear and still present Ducwolf !
I will edit the credits in the future each time I find back the original sound maker (if) !

Brabham BT7: originally made by... ?
Brabham BT11: originally made by... ?
BRM P261: originally made by Ducwolf or Jeroen (?)
Cooper T77: originally made by... ?
Ferrari 1512: originally made by Ducwolf or Jeroen (?)
    Honda RA272: Van Gossum (?)
Lotus 33: originally made by... ?

    Notes:
    - The Brabham BT11 and the Lotus 33 sounds have the same origin.
    - The Brabham BT7 and the Cooper T77 sounds have the same origin.

    Installation:

For a better "confort", I'm sending you my whole GPL65 sound folder, so you will just have to rename yours, without to make a lot of renaming because I also changed the wind and gearshift sound level...
Extract my compressed "sound_gpl65_intruder_v1" folder into your main GPL directory and rename your original sound folder to "sound_gpl_original" (for example) before to rename mine to "sound"... Reverse "the naming process" once you decide to stop to race with the mod 65.
Note that I will probably release in the future the same sounds but this time, to be used WITH all the other sounds, in your "main" sound folder.

I will still edit this post to "complete or correct" the informations if needed.

I really hope you will enjoy those sounds as much as I do...  ;)

    Have fun !

      You're welcome guys! It's my pleasure!   :)
I'm really happy to be able to share "something" with this great community who already gave me (us) soo much!

And, I invite all those who already downloaded and tried those sounds to drop a little comment if they want because I'm really curious to know if I was "in the good" in the rendition of the immersion...  ;)

      Hi Intruder
Just tried your sounds for the 65 mod. First: More hearing comfort, less noisy sound. Second: Therefore first time the chance to listen what the tires will tell us and to hear the wind. Most of all the BT11 sound improved, the BT7 still reminds me of a chain saw but has improved anyway. Thank you very much for your work on these new and comfortable car sounds.
      Regards
      Martin

Is it a problem when i overwrite the 65 sound update files with the files in the original folder? Are there any conflicts of using other mods like 55, 66 e.g.?

There is absolutely no problem to overwrite the sound files in the original folder and you will have absolutely no conflicts with the other Mods.
I even recommend to use the Intruder set that is a must for the Mod65. :)

        Not for me.
        I prefer Wolfgang Buthe's (ducwolf) 65 sounds.

        Yes, Stefan is right.

If by chance you don't like them, make a backup before to install the Irridux set, like that you can easily go back to the original files, or use the Wolfgang Buthe's 65 sounds. :)
