Is there a replacement sound file for the 65 mod?
I love to drive this mod, but the high pitched engines give me a headache.  Is there an alternative to the stock files?

Hello GPLers,

Instead of creating a new thread, I'm using this one to ask for your advises and opinions...  

A long long time ago, I started to edit sounds for my own use (in this case for the mod 65) and I would like to share them with the whole GPL community because I think to have obtained good results... BUT, "the problem" is, after several hundreds of "naming and renaming" of the files, I finally lost the trace of the orignal sounds makers (almost)! Because I've never asked the authorisation to edit their sounds (I wasn't aware I could edit something decent for a share) and that I don't want to hurt people; I wanting to have your advises and opinions to know how I could share those sounds "by respecting the rules"...
The original sounds are coming from all the famous sounds makers anyway, like Speed Eraser, Dukeminier, Tifo,... and our dear and still present Ducwolf (who is already aware of those sounds)!  
If a solution is found, I will upload them with pleasure in a new and specific thread (and more informations), in the hope you will enjoy to use them also...

Hallo Int ,

That is good news Intruder , because ... 1 .... i like the 65ers and 2 because there is no 3/tree ... the only car that i really like regards sound is the Honda sound .
Hopefully you may place them here .

So? Why not credit them all.
Guess that wouldn't hurt anybodies feelings.
At least for the ones still around you can ask permission, for the ones that don't the fact that you credit them should suffice.

This great Mod deserves some more great engine sounds especially after Irridux &
G Spinning updates.Can't wait to see what develops Intruder.

Ok,, I will post the files as soon as possible...  
I still have to check "little details"; and try to find back some of the original sounds makers (for the credits) and write a little readme file.

Here is a sound example yet of the Brabham BT7 at East london (recorded in cockpit view), a very nice track to test all the GPL 65 sounds!
Note that "in game" the sounds are sounding even better than on this sample. They are more "cristal"!    
...But of course, it will always be a question of "taste" also...

Edit ; just done a test .... damn ... good sound but it is not working for me  , cliping sound at high revs , and when i come in 4 gear the car is slowing down   .
Anyway ... the sound is good perhaps other people will have more luck .
It depends perhaps also which soundcard i have onboard .

Nooo! That sound sample must be listen with a player ONLY! You can't use it in game!!!    lol

Hi guys!
I made another alternative sound for the Lotus 33...it´s just a beta so if some of you want to test it your opinion will be welcome!
Just one important note: since the engine sounds sometimes are altered by the wind sound is important to use this sound with the default wind sound, so if you use another rename it before the test. Also this sound have bass enough so don't need bass reinforcement.
And remember back up first!
