2 ways possible :
- more easy ; unzip the file `virtual mirrors for all 69x cars `.
copy the car specific 3do file to the specific car folder. ( GPL/cars/cars69/cxxxx )
which folder fits to which car is pointed out in the headline.
e.c. Lotus63 c02 = Lotus63 is located in the folder GPL/cars/cars69/c02
or
2.
unzip the file `virtual mirrors for all 69x cars `.
integrate the specific 3do into the specific dat.file with the program DATman
edit: to change the position and size of the virtual mirrors read above, but be aware that sometimes its very tricky to find the right way to those endless root trees.

OK - I hope that these instructions are clear enough - I can add one of these mirrors in about
10 minutes but I find it hard to explain how to do it.
Could be a bit longer than I thought too.

You should have a look at GPL++ TheAddons(

familiar with using GPL(Track)Editor
Load the car 3do into GPL(Track)Editor
(Keep a backup of the 3do)
Expand the STRN section - (click on. the + sign) - look for the number of the 'mirror' - I think
it's 77 for the Lotus
I also use the drop-down menu 'optionsjwireframe' to work on car 3do's
Then expand the PRIM section and scroll down to the 'cockpit tree root'
Open the 'cockpit tree root' branches and find the one that has the dashboard polygons -
should be called something like 'xxdash' - press F2 and the dash polygons should appear in
the right window - you will have to use the magnify button to see it closer- click the mouse,
while holding down the left shift key, on one of the points that make up the dash (where the
lines join) and you should get the points editor panel - note the X = number - this will do for
the X co-ordinates for the four new mirror points.
Go to the top and click on the 'new point' button
Note the point number
Change the co-ordinates - use the X value from the dash
Make the Y value minus 0.1 and the Z value 0.6
Make three more points with the same X value and with
Y= minus 0.1 , Z= 0.5
Y= 0.1
r Z= 0.5
Z= 0.1
r Z= 0.6
Note the point numbers of the new points
The first point is the top right corner, then bottom right, bottom left and finally top left.
The minus Y values are on the right of the centreline.
Now open the PRIM and the cockpit tree root, then back to the dash part of the tree.
(Hopefully there is an empty node there)
Highlight (left click once) the 'empty node' then right-click and then follow the menu - "insert
- replace node" and make it a FlavorS subS
Double-click on the FlavorS and make the top number the 'mirror' number - (Lotus = 77) and
the bottom number 13
Highlight the empty node under the FlavorS and "insert - replace node" and make it a Flavor

Double click on this new node to edit it
Change the four numbers (0.1.2.3) by double clicking on them and make them the new point
numbers in the correct order.
The texture co-ordinates should be OK
This will map the mirrors to this polygon.
Click 'OK' to save the edit and save the 3do
This should give you a centre mirror in cockpit view.
NOTE - You may have to change the co-ordinates of the new points to get the mirror where
you want it.
Increase the Y values to make it wider and the Z values to adjust the height.
The X values change the fore and aft position - smaller is towards the driver
It's best to keep the mirror in proportion ( 2 units wide to 1 unit high) so the mirror is not
