This file contains setups for the 66 mod created by John Roberts and tested by me. John provided the default setups for the Sportscar mod and the F2 mod that so many are currently enjoying. These setups are not designed for aliens. If you've struggled to feel comfortable with the 66 mod cars, you might want to take a look at these. They've improved my confidence and enjoyment immensely, not to mention knocking 1.5 to 4 seconds off my lap times. Testing was done at Rouen since that track offers a good challenge to stability, rewards pushing a little harder, and has a good mix of corners in both directions at varying speeds. The setups are symmetrical and have race fuel levels. You'll probably want to adjust the steering ratio to your usual specs and perhaps increase the rear roll bar for a little more oversteer. The brake balance can be adjusted to the rear a bit as well. Please pass your appreciation along to John Roberts. These setups are available at Sim Racing Mirror Zone > Grand Prix Legends > Grand Prix Legends Files > GPL-Setups/Replays
https://srmz.racesimcentral.net/index.php?showforum=21
and in the track database, in the setups for Rouen. Enjoy.

That's curious.  Does Mr. Roberts have a Ferrari phobia of some kind?  :D

  I see.  :)  That's a shame, I've never heard of a antihistamine marketed for a Ferrari allergy.  I guess he's stuck with it.  :D

The setups are very good.  I've never gone as high with the anti-roll bars as your setups do, John.  It's early days, but I'm liking the results.  I've experimented in doing the same to some of my 67 setups and have been pleased by how it feels.  I switched over from left foot braking to right foot last year and the thing I still struggle with is keeping the car stable with one hand while braking and down shifting.  The stiffer anti- roll seems to make this much nicer for me.  I also seem to build more heat in my tires with this, another thing I've struggled with since I've switched driving styles.

Thanks for having your setups posted, John Roberts.  I very much appreciate it.

I just started using Johns 66 BT11 2.5l setup and boy has it made a difference !
I like the increased steering authority...
No histrionics with the back end getting off the power or on the brakes.
Makes the drive much more enjoyable than with the wild beast I was fighting before
Nice work JR  :hat-tip:

Just had my first league race with this setup. Wow what a transformation. Now that I am not fighting chassis histrionics, I can actually attack the track. Nice :)

I have discovered that adding brake bias really makes a world of
difference under heavy braking for situations such as The Parabolica
at Monza & Tarzan at Zandvoort.Driving the Lotus 33. :D
Car is much more controllable and corners much smoother.

Got to say - I'm very impressed with these setups. Did a back to back test with my own setups & John's are far more stable. Many thanks for these   (shame about no Ferrari but we can't have everything ;) )

I might be missing something but when I extract the files into GPL, they don't show up in the game. Can someone walk me through this since I am fairly new at this. Thanks for any help.

The setups should go here:
C:\Sierra\GPL\players\YourPlayerName66\setups\rouen
since they were tested there. When you start GEM+, you should be able to choose the setup that is for the 66 car that you've chosen. Be sure you've chosen Rouen as your track. Or from in game, make sure you've chosen the 66 mod and a 66 car and Rouen as the track. At the track, before you get in the car, click "SETUP" on the botttom of the screen. You should be able to chose one of these setups from the menu on the top left. As stated in the first post, a Ferrari setup is not included.

Hope this helps. Enjoy.
