There is a work around. Run the races in race mode in the proper championship order. Then keep track of the finishes and points yourself. That way you can drive the right car for each race.
sorry Pete..non compriendo

Instead of clicking on the championship button. Use the race button. First get the order of all the tracks they ran in 69, and the order they ran them. Run just one race at a time in the order they ran them in 69. At the end of the race write down where everybody in the points finished. Then assign the points they got. Make a list, and add the points everybody for each race. At the end of running all the tracks you have the order they finished in the championship. Including you. You're just doing the math that GPL does for you in championship mode.

This is the only way you can run a full championship, and use the right car graphics for each race.

Hi, I downloaded the 69mod X'tra for Grand Prix Legends.exe file for a fresh install on my new server, but when I try to execute the file, I get this message:
"This self extracting executable file has been corrupted. The installation will be terminated."

I downloaded it twice with the same result.
Could someone check if that's the case and post a valid file please?

I would like to be notified.

Thanks.

Good idea. Thanks!

But is there any way of knowing if it is the original version or the updated version?

Just to be clear, there a is (at least) two file versions of the 69XTRA mod. One was released on May 22 2011, and the other one a few days later, on May 24 2011 with a few updates.
There are other updates posted on May 30 2011.

I'm asking if there's a way of knowing which version is on the download page you mentioned..

Well, all the "69mod X'tra for Grand Prix Legends.exe"  files I downloaded are dated May 22 2011,

If Paul wrote this on May 24 2011,...

EDIT 24-05-11
It seems some older files got into the installer by mistake that will cause the ORIGINAL 69mod to CTD if the player info is used.
If you have d/l the mod before this date, copy the files in the attachment into your gpl/layout folder.

Also small bug fix for the T1F left hand mirror.

... then shouldn't we have an install file with a different date than May 22?   Or is it possible that the updated file kept its original date?

More direct question: should we consider all available "69mod X'tra for Grand Prix Legends.exe"  files as "updated/?

There is no problem to install udate to already updated mod. Some files will be overwrited, that's all.

I've installed 69Xtra Mod for the 5th time today, but cannot run it. I am installing it on a dedicated GPL69 install ver 1.3 (making a copy for a back up).  I can start the 69X mod, select training, but nothing happens when I click on the green button. I have followed the read me instructions to the letter (althought the following line puzzled me ...4/Select your 69mod player and select "69-extra" for the player... So I used my existing 69mod player). 69Xtra mod is installed with the carset 69-extra, 69-extra physics and cars69 selected, GEM version 2.5.32. GPL 69mod runs without any problems. I made sure the correct tracks are in the tracks folder, the correct number of sounds are in the sounds folder, no options are selected in the Gem menu such as 60fpsv2, etc., I am running in Openglv2 but I tried it in D3D to no avail. Frankly I am out of ideas... I have searched this forum extensivly, found a few similar issues, but the suggestions failed to fix them. I even found one member with an identical issue but it was never resolved ...
Any help would be appreciated ......

If you click on red 'Quit' button Gem should ask you about your will to update existing mods executables. Click 'yes' and check if gplx69.exe appeared in your gpl folder.

Yes, I have been following that procedure all along, after setting everything up in my gem, I exit Gem saving everything, go to the game folder and launch the gplx69 executable. GPL launches, the new mod teams and cars are there, all menus are accessible, but from the main screen, when the green button is pressed to select a track, nothing happens. The button color brightens when clicked, so it is getting input, just no response...

Do you have both "driver textures ( and in mirrors )" boxes checked ( ticked ) in GPL graphics options?
Do you have a mirror.mip in your GPL/cars/cars69 folder?

Do you have all the 10   sounds 69*.wav in your GPL/sound folder?
