1969 Xtra Mod Release Notes

the 69 Mod is probably the Mod i've used least purely as i haven't got round to learning how to drive the cars as much as i have other Mods.
I had a couple of hours spare to myself yesterday so thought i'd load up GPL and do something different.
I loaded up the 69 Extra Mod and Montjuic, a track i downloaded on day 1 but have never learnt.
I probably spent the best part of 1.5 hours learning the track, learning how to handle the BRM and trying to get anywhere near Jackie Stewart who was in the top 3 for most of the 2 hour Qualifying session (Grand Prix Pro level). After about 40 minutes of tinkering with the set-up i got into the flow of the track and got within 1.5 seconds of pole before the Mrs came home and i politely shut down GPL.
It was a great way to spend an hour and reminded me what a terrific challenge this game is when you try something different and how its difficulty level really allows you lose yourself in the game for hours. I also wanted to to pay my respects to the 69 Mod Team, 69 Extra Team and the creators of Montjuic. I hope they don't forget that long after they've created this stuff, there's people dotted around the globe who are still getting pleasure from their efforts years later that they give to the community for free. That is one of the many reasons why i'm a fan of GPL and the GPL community.
Cheers

Thanks,
Did you select the 60fps option in GEM+ ?
If you selected it, try without, just in case.

I don't have it selected. I do have the OpenGL v2 rasterizer though.

Bob,
That was the first thing I checked. I seem to have sound files 691 through 699 plus 6910 in the sound folder. Still no go. I've tried starting with a clean gpl folder and this time I got a strange GEM error saying that the patch for 69x contained errors, but I did not save the debug file (do I need to install 69 mod on the clean folder first i wonder). Whil, the 69x I installed in the dedicated 69 folder keeps doing the same. loads the game but no go when I click the green button.

Ez, here's the screen shot attached. I have a total of 45 car folders so I 'm sure I have all of them. and I can't see what's wrong with the read me. I'm doing everything in the correct order.
Thanks,

I assume that you mean 690 through 699. It doesn't mention it in the readme, but I'd think that the 69 mod should be installed first. I might be wrong there.
I'm surprised to see the long track option showing in your GEM as that is included in all new mods and the 67 update without it having to be included as an option. That might be a clue to what's wrong.

A business travel and a much needed family vacation kept me off the forums again.
Thanks Bob. As both versions of the mod that I downloaded keeps doing the same thing, do you think if I renamed one of the sound files to 690, would it resolve the issue? Or is there a place I can download the sound files only?
I don't think I have the 67 update, but all my newly installed mods (CA71, GT, 67F2) work so I'm not sure what might be wrong with the long track option showing in the GEM menu. I do have the latest version of GEM as far as I know (2.5.32)

This post is quite old but I just ran into a similar problem. 69xtra just stopped loading. It didn't matter if I tried through Gem or straight to the .exe. After trying about everything else, including a reinstall of everything from scratch, I turn off my virus protection. Yep, that fixed it. Apparently Avast made a recent update because it never caused a problem before. It would let the original GPL load and run but it stopped all of the mods from loading.

Thanks,
I have the exact same problem here ... has there been any solutions to this issue yet .... I have spent the better part of the entire day reading ..searching..trying different selections..performed as many of the suggestions as I have found in the forums.. verified circuits, number of sounds.. etc, but I am convinced my install is good...it reflects the state of install mentioned above... just does nothing when green button clicked in game...
