In my seasons directory I currently have all my 'real' tracks alphabetically in tracks01.ini, tracks02.ini, and trackso3.ini files (in addition to the 58season.ini - 71season.ini, fiction1.ini, and shrtcrct.ini).

Now that I've patched all the mods, can I merge the three tracksxx files into one ini file, thus having all those tracks available together for testing and single race?

In theory you should be able to do that, yes. I haven't bothered myself, as I found the seasons editor in GEM (which is the most convenient method) started to get very slow after I'd added about 130-150 tracks into my seasons file. I suppose this might be partly due to my PC (Athlon XP3200 @ 2.2Ghz/1GB RAM), so you may not have this problem.

If you're careful with your editing and counting, you could always use a text editor to splice the season files together and enter the correct track count at the start of the file. But whichever method you might use, I suggest keeping your old seasons files just in case something goes wrong or you want to revert back.

Good luck!

EDIT: Just remembered something. Do you use the Thundercars mod at all? If so, there's no patch for it at the moment, so you should avoid selecting the large season file when you're running it.

Good point.  I'd forgotten about that;  I don't use the TC mod much and would have used some decidedly unacceptable language had it crashed the next time I loaded it.  Best leave well enough alone for now.  Thanks.

"use a text editor to splice the season files together and enter the correct track count at the start of the file"
That's what I'd planned on doing, but wouldn't I also have to sequentially renumber the individual added tracks?  (Let's see - about fifty tracks per file, plus another two dozen or so recent downloads, plus having to remember to use the original files for TC  ...nope, I'm too lazy.)

and also remember if you ever use plain old gpl.exe you'd have the same problem. Also something that was pointed out a little while ago. When you use the 67 patch all of your addon track laptimes are stored in the player.ini, rather than having to use replays and gplra. However, if you then run plain gpl.exe even just once, those addon track laptimes are wiped from the player.ini!! Just something to be wary of.

I use a season file called ALLTRAKS.ini which has 300+ of the best tracks in it. I use that with all mods that can handle extra tracks.
It is especially useful when hosting online because you do not have to worry that the track you want to host is not in the season file. Also, if I want to check a PB all I have to do is check the best laps screen.

GEM is really the good tool for doing that. And its necessary for playing the different mods. Do you know it or do you just play with original gpl 67?
Ez

Sorry, i read too quickly your post. If you've patched the mods, you use Gem...  ;)
So in the season menu, you only have to create a new season.ini and to import the tracks of the other seasons.ini.
