Keido,

For drivers who prefer no objects in the mirrors I have put together a zip file with the necessary mips for each of your very well done Tasman64 cars. And although your first post stated "Feel free to modify it." ...I still wanted to ask permission first before posting anything that will change your carset. The changes are completely reversible and anyone can remove the mip files anytime they prefer to revert back to having the chassis image reflection in their mirrors. Would you have any objections if I were to post the mip files?

Thanks and best regards,
Rich

Need Admin help please...I meant for this to be posted as part of the existing Tasman carset thread:
https://srmz.racesimcentral.net/inde...?showtopic=5015

...so that Keido will see it, can this be moved over?

Sorry for the inconvenience.   :(

But of course You can upload them here. As I said all modifications and suggestionns are welcome and it would be nice if they are posted here. And there are always things to make better. Feel free to improve it and let me know what has done.

Regards, Keido

Keido, thank you for your permission to modify your Tasman carset. However, I don't feel comfortable releasing these "no object in the mirror" files because I didn't create the mirror.mip file that I am using to modify your Tasman carset. What I did was to dig into the 65mod files, I found the 65mod mirror.mip file with no objects, then did more digging into the Tasman carset to try and find what the file name needed to be in order to work with your Tasman carset. Once I figured that out then I just renamed the mip files to be compatible with your Tasman cars. Due to the RSC forum situation I have been unsure of how to get permission from the 65mod team in order to release a modification of their mirror file. Until I can get permission from the 65mod team to release a modification of their mirror.mip file, I will hold off.

I have an interesting problem,  I have installed the Tasman mod and love it. But I have found that in testing mode for my 65 mod, the default setup is from the Tasman mod and not the default setup for the 65's. Any ideas why this has happened to me?

Philo,

Did you create a Tasman player?  I have Bookie WestbrookXX, 65-69.  I created Bookie Tasman for that carset only.  Haven't had any problems I'm aware of.

Yup I did and it works fine. Its just that somehow my 65 default setup has changed in only testing mode. In race mode I have the 65 default setup. My physics are just different (they are from the Tasman's) in testing mode. I am lost at this point. I'm waiting on a new GPL cd from soldout software for a reinstall to fix it. I'm just frustrated by all this. And I'll stick to the proven mods for my new install. I don't think I can just unistall and reinstall my 65's. I think that the install goes too deep into a bunch of files to make a clean unistall of any mod. I'm pulling out my ( whats left of it) hair over this testing problem in my 65's. my problem must be a rare one that no one has had before with the lack of responses.

I use the Tas68 cars as a low res carset on several mods to allow good FPS on my fairly old PC. These cars are by far the best looking lores cars. The dashes on all the cars are as good as any carset. The Braby and Lotus 49 especially are great. As far as I'm concerned, these cars give all the GFX glitz anyone needs. Great work.

Well - as a latecomer to this thread (how could I have missed it), thank you immensely for all the work you guys put in. As I attended virtually every Tasman Race from 1963-69, I can't wait to get this lot set up and operating. Now, all we need is a Pukekohe track, to make my year ......

    - it could be possible with GEM to put in these cars the basic trainer engine of 67 carset? it should have about 230 cv at low rpm, these cars with 65 engines are screaming at 10000 and over rpm

    - i have this problem with tecnical datas of ferrari, anyway i seem Ferrari was never in Tasman, is it?

Hi, there were layout/gem fixes in posts 17 & 38, they don't correct the technical details (I think that would take a lot of patching to achieve).

In fact Chris Amon raced a works Ferrari 246T in 1968 and returned with team mate Derek Bell for 1969. You should see that car on 1968 Team Info screen.

Keido has update the full Tasman carsets 64-68 with the following d/l link:

Here is a link    https://ul.to/64npt0r...64npt0rl    for Tasman package,
it is a whole set because I have modified it when I had some time.
Install it again and if the problem won't be solved let me know.

    With best regards,
    Keido
