I have changed my driver rating=2 in playF2.ini and selected 'Advanced Trainer' in GEM, but when I start a championship I get an F1 car (EuroF2 graphics but 67F1 physics). For training and single race I get an F2 car (EuroF2 graphics and 67F2 physics). Can you hint where I might have gone wrong?

Found a way to drive the F2-championship with a proper F2 car:
Copy the AdvancedTrainer.xml file in the Mods/Gem+/gpl65/options folder of your GPL directory into the Mods/Gem+/gpl67/options folder. Then you will have the AdvancedTrainer patch on your Gem+ screen when you choose the EuroF2 carset with 67physics. Click on this box and on the F2-championnat box, chance to Advanced Trainer in the chassis type window of Gem+, then start gpl. Now you can drive the F2-Championship (starting in Snetterton) with a entire F2 car (F2 graphics and AdvancedTrainer physics).

(I would prefer using the 65physics by copying the f2-championnat.xml file into Mods/Gem+/gpl65/options, but this didnt work)

Can I ask about the xml files issued with this, if I add them to my main GEM+/gpl67 folder will they affect all the other mods that use the 67 physics ?, how does it know only apply to the euroF2 carset ?.

I also assume if want to change to use the 65 physics I should add them to the GEM+/glp65 folder.

I just like to know how these things work, eg I assume all the xml files in these folders are applied every time GEM rebuilds the exe files so I shoundn't delete any?.

You have to create a F2-driver and connect him to the F2-carset in GEM+. Then your "GPL 67-driver" will not be affected. The "player-box" in GEM+ is the key to chance between the carsets.
Yes, you can use the 65-physics (in the GEM+ carset-box), but then you cannot have the option of the entire F2-championship-season (tried it, but it didnot work, dont know why). Thats why I suggested to use the "67-advanced trainer" physics.
You can learn the function of these xml-files if you have a look into the Mods/Gem+/gpl67/options folder. Its not that difficult to understand (even for me as an "only-user").
