Firstly thanks to Ruud for putting the initial update together it certainly brings Mosport up to scratch.

Thanks also to Milklit for the updated .3do's to fix the popup issues, and to the others who have added files to this thread Gaus and Rock in particular.

Mosport has never looked so good!!!!

Umm. What I did is very easy to do and should not be compared to what the others have done.

I just discovered a new issue. Somewhere along the line I have lost my flagmen. They were always a little buggy at this track, but now they are gone, and I don't know when it happened. Has this happened to anyone else? :(

No one else has lost their flagmen? Then I will start over from scratch and see what happens.

Oppolo: Think of this as a feast. Rudy's work is the main course. And then there are all of the side dishes to try.... :)

                Miklkit, still having problems?

My flagmen are ok, using Rudy's update and your 1st dd 3do.

I've been busy at work. 10 hour days outdoors. Haven't done anything yet. Maybe this weekend....

not sure about the other flagmen since there's this traffic lights like thing. maybe that replaced some of the flagmen - would make sense after all, but i definitely know my starter guy is still waving his flags. and i do think i've seen a few blue and yellow flags along the way as well
will check later as i'm trying to get mosport negative (again).

                        Hi,

No, the traffic lights do not replace any flagmen (they never do in GPL). Like the second grandstand and several other thingies, they were added because they were there in real life. To make things just a bit more realistic, y'know? :D

(Their light warnings don't actually work in GPL, though, and I doubt that'd even be technically possible).

                        Regards, Rudy

                          oh,

ok gotcha. as a hotlapper who mostly doesn't bother with races, i never see much of the flagmen anyway. but i've done a few races at mosport, i have to report, that at least for my install they are all still there.
i started with a clean mosport, added your (ruud) marvellous all in one update, then added colin's texture update, gaus' pit buildings and the view adjust by miklkit.

regarding the flagmen vs lights. this is just thinking aloud, so might very well be utter bollocks as i've never looked into it. there ought to be different flagmen for yellow, white, blue and green flags. and they should have names designating what is what. so there must be something in gpl exchanging elements with the same of a slightly different name. so maybe it would be possible to create, say a red, a green and a yellow lights object, and have them exchanged in accordance to the flagmen's change in that section of the track?

this is unless all flagmen are hardcoded into the game anyway (which i doubt, given everything else graphicswise is not)

anyway, the only thing remaining to be done with the mo' to make it photorealistic is the vegetation on the horizon. sky's are gray here otherwise i'd try and go out snap a few shots of trees, bushes and rows of trees to fix that.

anyway, some goodie. a slow 'lap' of mosport in 1960 as it is being built. quite alrite for references regarding vegetation.
