Someone asked about virtual mirrors in another thread. Here is my collection, and a guide if you want to make your own. It is actually quite simple, because even I can do it!!

In all cases just replace existing car.3do (back up original first). If your car folder does not contain a 3do file then just place the virtual mirror file in there and it will be used over the one in the DAT folder.

I'm not sure if the 65 files are compatible the the most recent car updates but it's easy to make your own.

Edit: The tutorial uses illustrations to show how to adjust the mirror position. See PDF version 2 posts down. The "How to make a virtual mirror" PDF is a PDF of text lifted from a RSC post by Alan Dickeson of how to actually create a mirror from scratch. As I say it isn't that difficult if you just work through it slowly.

Wicked, I was going to ask about Runar's mirrors and yours. Thanks

 Thanks Ken!

For those of us (like me) who don't have MS Publisher, the tutorial as a pdf.

Thanks Tomsk.

Actually I just realised that tutorial only shows how to move an existing mirror. I do have some instructions of how to create one from scratch so I'll see if I can find it.

Thanks and please Ken. That is what I would be interested in getting. PDF format would be very helpful also.

Here you go. The last line of text is cut short but it doesn't say anything important.

Thanks to the original author Alan Dickeson.

Thanks

I have tried the both versions of the 65 virtual mirrors and the brabham.3do doesn't seem to work.  I have downloaded the two versions twice.  The other 65 virtual mirrors work fine.  I love the virtual mirrors!

I have noticed that the default mirror on my Eagle at 1920 x 1080 resolution is above and out of view. Using GPLEditor I altered the 4 corners of the mirror to
1395 and 1398 (Corner Numbers) to X 0.819   Y 0.11  Z 0.662 Then 1396 and 1397 to X 0.819  Y 0.11  Z 0.58. Which gives me the view below.

I use the no letterbox patch and a more realistic FOV 63 on my 27' 1920x1080
and the standart VM (Mirror 67 max zoom all cars) works fine...

Not before yesterday I found this thread.
After adjusting the values it works great.

Here my values for 1920*1080:

X: 0.828        X: 0.828
Y: 0.15          Y: -0.15
Z: 0.58          Z: 0.58

X: 0.828        X: 0.828
Y: 0.15          Y: -0.15
Z: 0.52          Z: 0.52

Thanks to the mirrorbuilder!

BR Olaf
