"60 fps AI for testing" is the topic title, so consider this a testing version in every case. Try it out and see if it works well enough for you. Its easy to install and uninstall.

A huge thanks to brr for this and all the other fabulous developments he has brought to GPL.

Just run several races against the AI at Monza and Silverstone and all seems well to me. The odd abrupt line change but nothing drastic. Superb!

Now we just need GPLRA "cracking" for 60fps.

    Hi Brrr

    I've tested the 60fps ai patch on my favorite circuit, Monza 10k, and I've noticed a strange thing:
    the ai works properly on the road circuit marking good times and driving fast but when drivers reach the bankings (northern and then southern one) they immediately slow down and go 2 gears under the necessary, so their times are of about a minute more than a normal one ( 3'18"...) . I wanted to evidence this problem only because you asked for any suggestion in the readme and because I really appreciate this patch, Gpl is really better with that.

    Was this with 67 cars, or some mod? How do the AI drive without the 60fps patch applied?

    it was first with 66 mod and then with 67 original version. Without the patch the ai works properly, no errors. Only when the patch is applied the ai seems to be affected by "banking-fobia" XD

    60fps mod AI shoud not be taken seriously, because the mod patches overlap with 60fps ai patch in a way that is not planned. I think the AI behaviour you ran into is caused by a known problem with 60fps AI. Initially I changed all the values in the gpl_ai.ini to correspond to 60fps, but then the AI could not keep on track. The gpl_ai.ini which came with the patch increases traction, but apparently not enough for situations like the banking at Monza. Try with the original gpl_ai.ini, it has much more traction which I think will help. In a brief test I got normal laptimes with 60fps AI in 67 cars at monza10k.

    I've tried now with 66 mod following your instructions... nothing good Brrr. Drivers increased their laps of 3 seconds, more or less, but they are still afraid of bankings. I'll try with 67 version.

    It would be better to concentrate on the 67 only with 60fps AI, as far as reporting things goes. Mods with 60fps AI have the extra problems I described in the previous post, which will not be solved until 67 works ok.

    I quite like the somewhat erratic and quick-reactioned AI.... makes me think I am driving online again! :D

    Its well worth it to play this game in 60fps. Thanks again brr!
