We did a new installer for Paul Thurston's GEM+ 2.5.32 as well as iGOR 1.6 by Phil Flack and Lee's Setup Manager 1.1.6 as well as Winvroc

The new installer will help to fill in some values needed by all 4 of them like the GPL path.
You have also the chance to download the actual SGEM.INI during installation.
The iGOR.INI racelist server entry will be corrected.

A big thanks to Paul, Phil and Lee and of course Lawrence L. Holbert!
And a big thanks to Ginetto, Tommie, Remy, Arturo, Rob and all the other guys who have helped with this installer.

You don't need to download the package if you have latest GEM, iGOR and Lee's Setup Manager but it's a step forward.

Don't forget that you need to create a player first when you install a new GPL.

Thanks to all  :)

Ups. Link ?!

Hi guys,

My current GEM installation is almost up-to-date, with the exception of Setup Manager 1.1.3. I'm still running 1.0.3.

Is it ok to just run the new installer and overwrite my current files to get everything updated? Or should I take some other steps as well? I'll back up first, of course, in case anything goes wrong.

Thanks for creating and maintaining one of the most important pieces of GPL.

Just make a copy of the current GPLSecrets directory.

We had done several updates as well as new installations.

Known reported issues: Maybe carsets may have to be 'reactivated' in GPL carsets. Do it one after another that mean activate one and exit GEM+. Let GEM+ save whatever it wants to save. Restart GEM and activate the next carset. Exit, save and restart.

But the version from Lee's Setup Manager is the one which is in the new GEM Package as well as the version you find here: https://srmz.racesimcentral.net/inde...s...ost&p=29979. The version numbers are extracted from the exe files during compilation that's why you may see slightly different version numbers.

According to the thread here: https://srmz.racesimcentral.net/inde...?showtopic=4173 I had the impression that you would already use his latest version.

But anyhow. Should work.

Francesco,
what does not work with GPL 67 ?

Does GPL 67 start but you can't do anything because when you use the green button nothing happens ?

Or what error do you have ?

Do you have the sounds required for the sound patch?

For some reason recent versions of GEM seem to need the sound patch for GPL to work. So you need to check the soundpatch box but also make sure you have all the seperate sounds required for it.

For Bern:until now i have not cheked. Is strange that with the old version was all OK.When i have used the new version i have found this ,at the moment, not understandable problem. If i start from GPL.exe all is OK.
For Ken:I have the sound patch and with the sound box cheked or not is the same.

If you try to start from GPLC67.exe you should see the same error. GPLC67.exe is the one started by GEM. This is a failsafe because current GEM+ never touches your GPL.exe

Maybe just delete/rename GPLC67.exe and let GEM+ create a new one ?

But you need some new sounds in your sound folder also I think. Look here:

Thank you Ken,but I have also the new sound and with the old version of GEM all was OK.If nothing is changed(apparently) seem not a problem due to the sound. In any case thank you again. Now I control if the game start from GPLC67.exe or if is better to follow the suggestion of Bernd.
