Hi Bernd,
I think this is a great initiative as, having returned to GPL recently, I've found there is loads of great stuff everywhere, but tracking it down is the hard part!
I would be happy to contribute some pages if you can set up an account for me.
Cheers,
Ross

Just got GPL reinstalled after a long layoff. The links under "Newcomers to GPL" on the FAQ were not very useful to me: the first two are just big long lists of stuff with no real direction, the last link is dead (404).
In an effort to make myself useful I put together a how-to, using the best information I could find, and posted it here: https://industriouson...nd-prix-legends. If you guys can make use of it, be my guest!

A nice page starkos. The first 2 links aren't that bad and I corrected the 3rd link but to be honest the 3rd link is outdated because it describes manually installing GPL and the patches. Not sure if the links are working.

Speaking of links not working, just a heads up about the Wiki. I just clicked on the DooDat and Datman links and they appear to be not working.

I don't know if this applies to these links, but I was waiting to see if the RSC links would ever come back up before adjusting the GPL FAQ links. Unfortunately there are so many threads of good FAQ info that are now evidently gone that it would be very hard to find or create a new location for them.
I suppose that what's needed is for someone to list all RSC or other links at the Wiki that are inactive and what they should be pointing to. I'm not able to do that now. Maybe once I retire that can be a project.

I'm willing to test all links and compile a list over the next couple of weeks or so if that will help. It would make a change from the same people doing all the work all the time

I fixed this and thanks for the heads up. It was a simple problem because those links pointed to gplmz instead of srmz. We have installed a text replace utility and this fix was easy. The RSC links might be harder to correct.
If you find any please post them here

Hi Bernd,
I'd like to advertise the new GPL League I'm trying to launch: "GPL Italia Formula Libera".
This is the link:
https://grandprixlegends.altervista.org
What have I got to do to put it on the section "Grand Prix Legends Leagues & Clubs" of "Grand Prix Legends Wiki"?
Thanks in advance.
Ciao, Enrico

Not to beat a dead horse, but on the FAQ page I've noticed all the links to RSC are still listed.
Much of the data linked through srworld.eu also references rsc.
Link to Guru's Resolution Hacker is 404 File not found.
OPenGL for ATI "here" links to RSC.
gpllinks.org redirects, might want to update that.
The "Power Monger" link goes to the new RSC with "no thread specified" when you get there.
Ditto for the question about graphics settings in core.ini
The link for EndItAll never loads.
(I'll crawl back under my rock now, before you start throwing bottles and wrenches at me.)

No no no. It is our duty as users to inform the administrators of dead links so they can fix them.

It's a matter of time (which I don't have right now) to not only figure which links are broken, but whether there are equivalents elsewhere. Maybe sometime in the near future, I can take this on a project.
Thanks (really) for reminding me.

I well understand about the time, seems as you age it goes by ever more quickly. (I'm now selling off a thirty year collection of plastic models that I've reluctantly realized I'll never build.)
Would volunteer to assist but I have absolutely no knowledge of website maintenance or html. OTOH, I didn't have internet access at home for several years and would often download entire threads from RSC while at work; many of these were possibly saved to CD during backups, if I find anything useful or interesting I'll post it or send it to ...??
