I'm at work now, but will post mine later tonight. I would specifically like a setup for Dubai International, I have a league race there tomorrow and am keen to try something different.
The setup I have is pretty safe and consistent, which should be great for a race, but I am wondering if there is a different approach?
I can do 1.57's with the setup I have, on soft tyres and with 17l of fuel. I need to be able to get on the power earlier in 2nd gear right handers; there are three LONG straights on this track, and I think even one or two metres here will make a huge difference.

good info, I will work on it tonight after 21:00 CET and try to get you a setup for the track.

So, I started the Elan testing with the default setup as usual
The car was rather stable under braking and had a very nice turn in. Lift of in turn was also very nice and instantly pointed the front of the car in the inside of the turn, without unbalancing the rear. Unfortunately I had quite some power on understeer that was getting rather severe on fast turns. I also had a bit long gearbox, especially on the 2nd gear.
My lap time on the 3rd lap with quite good lines was: 1.57.925
I changed the front camber to -1.8 to help the front end bite a bit more. I also changed the caster at 3.3 to make the car turn a bit more on Power on, without losing stability under braking with the steering wheel straight. I also shortened the final ratio of the gearbox by one click
The change was quite dramatic. Still quite stable under braking, the turn in become even more sharp and only occasionally requested a bit more attention by me. The power on phase though needed a more progressive gas application and the occasional fast countersteer action that had to be precise and quick as the elan doesn't really like big angle drifts and can get very nervous. The gearbox was just perfect, even just a hint too short for race maybe.
There was still a hint of power on understeer at fast turns, but there was also power on oversteer at the initial phase of very slow turns.
laptime on the 3rd lap: 1:55:712. Dramatic improvement
I noticed that the rear end was also rolling too much on power on after or at the apex. This situation especially when the rear end would slightly drift, maked the car bouncing a bit on the rear when countersteering. So I raised the rear springs to 33N/mm hoping for more precision. The rear end was also very soft so I might even gain some grip by limiting the rear suspension movement. Yes normally a stiffer spring will give you "less grip" (although this is not accurate, it will lose the same grip sooner, but not lose grip), but I hoped the better precision and more composed suspension movement would help me. I also noticed the rear tyres had too much heat at the inside and not enough at the outside, so I lowered the rear camber to -1.5
Results were good and bad. The car become very neutral on fast bends and a bit oversteery but much more precise on slow bends. It really permits me to push harder but it is also harder at the limit and quite a bit nervous over the kerbs, you need to drive it ahead of what is going to do. For example, at the first chicane, at the apex of the right hander that brings you to the long straight, you need to cut it over the kerb. Well, you better start countersteering over the kerb and then steer again to make the turn because if you don't it will either a) snap to oversteeer and make you spin over the kerb, snap to the other side and make you go wide and off road after the kerb
laptimes again better: 1.54.900!
Let's tame the beast a bit
Being this a race setup (I was using quite a load of fuel), I wanted to make the setup a bit easier and safer for the race. So I started with the green tyres at the back because the yellow would overheat a bit if pushed really hard. I maked the front end more stiff with one more click of springs and I opted for a bit more understeer on power on and kerbs with a bit more stiff front rebound for the dampers. I also raised a bit the front pressure as the tyres didn't work properly
I also lower a bit the rear bump and rebound dampers to make the rear end reactions a bit slower over bumps and turns.
Indeed the car gained a tad of understeer but it is not a big deal for me. It is safer and a bit more stable (not much but noticeable). And if pushed I managed to do :
1.54.940 so very close to the other setup but much better for race.
Here you are, setup, and replay for you. I encourage you to follow the same steps I did starting from the default setup and see if you experience the same feedback from the car. Hope that helps you a bit

forgot to say, I use 900 degrees range on my steering wheel, hence the 34 steering lock in the garage. Adjust as you wish depending on your steering wheel range.

Wow Aris, that looks terrific, and loads of info too! Can't wait for Melbourne qualy to end so I can give it a go! Race time is 2 and a bit hours away...

I hate myself for saying this, but I couldn't make your setup work for me, I still couldn't better 1.57.
Your setup worked better than mine under braking, but caused me a few problems getting back on the power.
I need to study your lap a bit more too, back to the drawing board for me!

long overdue but finally registered here
recently returned to P&G and doing some of the great flow tracks
i'm just curious what you guy's laptimes were on Goodwood with the Elan..
shame that GTR2-Rank removed the P&G Rank, hopefully it it'll come back after the '70's part is out ?
My best currently = 129.2
forgot to mention; using Goodwood 2.0 by motorfx

I can't comment on Goodwood times as I haven't been there, neither in person nor virtually.
But I have to comment on GTR2 Rank. I tried to help the guys to keep the PnG section up and running, but they really didn't want to do much work with it (I can understand that). Also note that the times posted there can be of anything. You can open the Career.blt file with your notepad and just edit times to those what you want to show in the site. Too easy if I may say so.
Also PnG v1 and v2 (and the forthcoming v3) have a little bit different physics so they should not be mixed together. That would be unfair.
Btw, why not open a TimeTrial thread on it? You're welcome to do that. I've been busy with "other stuff" like making some pocket money so I haven't done them myself lately. Not that there has been lots of enthusiasm about timetrials but some might find it as a challenge request (hopefully)

better than worm my way through the profile in GTR/GTL/GTR2/P&G...
Timetrials i never liked that part, but there should be a first for everything
