i have never been able to run the 66 mod until, well, this past sunday. actually that was triggered by reading someone else's problem with the '69 mod. what i did was delete the 66 folder in /mods/gem, deleted the *66.exe and installed the last patch again, then restarted GEM and presto. for the first time ever it worked.
before i used to get into gpl and on loading the race screen it crashed. every time. no more so.
ok here's the info - talking about the '69, but the same is true for the '66 (was for me anyway):
From readme
Quote
INSTALLATION
IT IS ESSENTIAL to REMOVE the gpl69 folder from gpl/mods/gem+ BEFORE installing the patch
Run the installer.
Check the install path. The default install path is C:\Sierra\GPL.
IF YOUR GPL INSTALL HAS A DIFFERENT PATH YOU MUST CHANGE THE PATH WHEN PROMPTED.
Remove gplc69.exe and rebuild with Gem+

I have small problem - I cannot go over 9600rpm in Lotus 43, which should have BRM's H16 engine, which goes hugely over 10000rpm in BRM chassis (max. HPs in 10400rpm). I checked GEM, it tells, that the car really has the BRM's engine inside. Is it intention (e.g. if Chapman installed something like rpm limiter to his car to increase reliability) or did I something wrong during installation?

Something is wrong 'though I can't tell you what.
My lotus 43 revs out to 11500 (in neutral), even the basic and advanced trainers rev out to 10000.
Sorry I couldn't be more help
Good Luck
David
