I agree Jim, but which one?  It's one of those tracks where I've got several versions and don't really have an opinion on which one I should link.

Same thing with Brands Hatch.  I like the one from Race, but I think it's a fps hog on a lot of systems.

Wish we had GTR2 quality versions of the GPL tracks from both places.  I still like them the best.

Give me some input on which version of Oulton (and Brands for that matter) you like the best and I'll add it to my post.

My favorite is Oulton Classic...International without the chicanes.
That fast sweeper (can't remember the name of the turn) after the long downhill straight is too much fun in a Cortina or Abarth...or RSR for that matter. The chicaned versions of the track are fine too...but the Classic version reflects more the time before chicane blight hit tracks around the world, and more in line with what P&G is all about.

I'd preferre an even older version with weeds at the apexes instead of striped curbing, but for now the 2005 version will have to do.

I myself am still looking for a Brands that is reasonably accurate, not ugly, and with good FPS.

Also, we have Knockhill now, and while I haven't had a chance to boot it up yet, everyone says it's excellent.
Eventually, I'd like the striped curbing banished from every track in my P&G collection...it's just wrong for the sim.

Personal choice of course, but I prefer the long 'Oulton Park' layout (of 3) in MotorFX and philrob's (v2.01) GTR2 version.  Yes it has chicanes, but the track width and occasional bumps seem more in keeping with a 60s circuit and also lead to more intense dicing (especially if you're in one of the less nimble drives - like a MkII Jag!).  I found the 2005 version had a much more modern feel due to its smoother and wider tarmac.

I'd add Mallory Park, Zolder, Sebring, 10k Monza, Montlhery and an older version of the Nordschleiffe ('the Mother') to Steve's list, given the ever expaning field of 'endurance' (as opposed to 'touring') cars now available in PnG.

Have you got a link to Montlhery?,does it have the chicane on the banking (not used during the sportscar races,but I'd take it anyway )

Never tried it...I'll give it a go.

Edit...Ok, gave it a whirl with the Abarth GR5. I think I agree with you for the most part...the only caveat being that I miss the fast right-hand sweeper. The second chicane ruins that turn. All in all, more in the flavor of P&G though - good call!

Monaco could be good if you wan't to drive street circuit. I'm not sure though if this is same layout as it was in 60's, or even if they drove this kind of cars there.

Yep - chicane on the banking at Montlhery.  And even this version isn't as long as track maps I've seen from that era ... but much better than nothing!
The Monza 10k I have unfortunately has chicanes (I think the 'Brianza' 10k layout is essentially the same).  Actually I've seen a pic of a late 60s sportscar race at the banked Monza with a real 'bus-stop' style chicane at the end of the pits immediately before you start onto the banking ... but that isn't in any version of the track I've come across.  Sadly the only chicane-free version of the 'flat' Monza layout is the original in GPL.  A conversion of this was made to a very rough 'beta' release for GTR2, but it hasn't been finished.  Lots of threads around on this subject.

Forgot to add the older (and longer) version of 'Charade' (Clermond-Ferrand) as another PnG suited circuit.

cheers Jim.  Yes, you have to sacrifice the sweeper ... but (especially in your car of choice), you might enjoy carving up some of the bigger cars in the tight confines of that particular chicane.  I haven't driven the Abarth a lot there, but the Minis are a hoot to brake-late, grab some curb and flick through there - certainly possible to embarrass an unsuspecting Cortina at that complex!

Hi Steve and everyone.

Here are a few tracks that I think work well with the smaller P&G cars like the Alfa, Cortina, Abarth, etc. Though some of the bigger cars would work with some of these tracks too(like Avus67 which would be better for the faster cars). All are available at No Grip/Downloads/GTR2 Tracks. I believe all of these tracks were in use in the 60s.

Added a couple of newer releases to the first post.

Zwiss did a convert of GPL's version of Watkins Glen and it's pretty nice.

Motorfx, Ken, converted GPL's Silverstone 67.  0.9 version, not perfect, but nice to have this track available.

Hi guys, first posting on the forum... can´t wait to write fast and go back to P&G race a bit before F1 friday practice... (: BTW, its fun to drive on Abu Dhabi with P&G cars!

I´m wondering here, there is no Monza 67 for GTR2? It was one of my favorite tracks on GPL and it also had the banking (but not habilitated for GPL), guess not a big problem to make it work.
I got the Brianza track, its fun, but has the damned chicanes...

Also someone mentioned Monaco, GPL also have Monaco in 67 shape, great track (even with the chicane at the Port!)

I have no idea how hard is to convert one of these tracks, but since there are some of GPL tracks around, I guess its doable...
