Do you ask for the original 67 carset ?

if yes ,as the 67 carset is limited to seven slots, I think but maybe wrong, that there has been only an edited Team info for the Lotus 49 Ford DFV.

There are team info layout files for the Lotus 43 BRM in the carset 66 .You 'll need to find the correct files, then rename them with the same names used for the carset 67 team info layout files names, and copy and paste them in the layout folder. But you need an editor to find the file names, unless someone know them, here

Yes, i'm asking for the 67 carset

After using the WinMip a got the 43 screen but the specification wrote there shows the 49 informations...
I know there's is something like a .txt file to change that - but i don't know where or how can i find it (or how to modify it)...

I apreciate your attention, M NFS.
Thanx.

Hi Rooster,
look here > https://www.gplpp.com/
under > Menu: > How To > 15 Other Stuff > Real Teams

You will need: Resource Hacker program (you found it in the same page under Utilities)

allways remeber to backup your "gpl.exe" file

It may not be so simple. If I don’t remember bad, thecar technical specs are in the exe. In the past you could change them withGPLSeason. I don’t know whether it supports the mod exe.

Not a good idea to mod the exe, but the lotus 49 data can be found in gpl.exe at the following off-sets:

Lotus Ford 49b
Capacity: x151769     [ 10 3b 45 ] i.e. 2993
Valves:         x15176c     [ 20 ] i.e. 32
Cylinders: x151770     [ 08 ] i.e. 8
Engine:         x151774     [ 00 ] i.e. V
BHP:         x151778     [ 90 01 ] i.e. 400
RPM:         x15177c     [ 28 23 ] i.e. 9000
Wheelbase: x151780     [ 00 00 be 42 ] i.e. 95
Front Track: x151784     [ 00 00 70 42 ] i.e. 60
Rear Track: x151788     [ 00 00 70 42 ] i.e. 60
Weight:         x15178d     [ 20 8a 44 ] i.e. 1105

You would need a hex editor such as Frhed.exe to modify the above values to those you want for the lotus 43.

Question: do the different types of each car overwrite the other? For example, does installing the Honda RA273 remove the RA300 from the game?

    Yes.
I've put two additional folders in my \Grand Prix Legends\cars\cars67\murasama folder, one with the full 273, the other with the 300, both with updates from Jackseller's site: https://www.f1legends.../cars/index.php . If I ever like to swap, i copy all the files from one folder to the murasama-folder.

That is an option but takes more time ;)
For mods i am building i just rename the slot.
    E.g. you would have 2 folders _RA300_Murasama and _RA273_Murasama
In those folders i create an empty subfolder with the title Honda RA273 and Honda RA300 so i know what's in that slot.
Then the only thing you need to do is rename the slot you want to drive and you're done :)

Grand Prix Legends ignores whatever hasn't got the proper folder name anyway so it won't harm your installation.

In a certain sportscar mod i have about 15 to 20 cars of which currently only 7 are used because the mods haven't got all cars assigned yet. I prefer the quick route so i can get back to :siesta:

Alright, thanks for the info guys!

Another question: are these cars stand alone, or do they require the original files from the Grand Prix Legends cd? I ask, because I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong that I can't get the race specific carsets to work and want to start from scratch with only the files that I need to get the carsets to work. I got tens of folders in the cars67 folder with stuff that I suppose came with the newest Grand Prix Legends installer from Bernd (I believe).

    Hi Miguelito

If I understand your question correctly YES the GPLEA updates need to be applied to a base folder for each car as per what is on the CD. I'm pretty sure that only some of the files that exist inside the original .dat are updated by the GPLEA textures.

Starting from a base install of Bernd's All-in-One installer would be a good option, this should have you up and running. Then update to one car at a time and then confirm that they are working in game, this way you can confirm where exactly the problem may lay. I'm not at my Grand Prix Legends machine so can't confirm if 10 folders is correct in the cars67 folder following an install of Bernd's All-in-One installer,I would think that a base install should only have 7 folders as that is all the car slots the 67 mod supports.

    Hope that helps

I'm not sure if you understood my question correctly, but your answer did help me. I managed to find some time today to reinstall all the cars, and managed to get all cars, this time in hi-res, to work. I'm only still having a look at the exhaust pipes of the Brabhams and the BRM from McLaren, as the end of those exhaust pipes seem to have a different colour from the rest of the pipes on the engine.

The folder should now be (as good as) ready for the race specific carsets, so I'll try that out later tonight if I got some time for that.

    Thanks for the help!

By the way, I'm impressed by the lack of FPS loss that comes with the hi-res skins, only at the first few seconds of the start does the FPS rate drop to 32. Other than that it's an enjoyable 36-37 FPS.

Here's a little tip for those who are missing GPLEA website or all those new to GPL that just don't remember how it looked like. All you gotta do is... take a trip in time. Impossible - you say? Not exactly, just check the website:

    https://archive.org/

Type one of two GPLEA's original links in 'Wayback Machine' :

    https://gplea.rscsites.org/ or https://www.kotr.de/gpl/

And then just choose some captures of the website. Some captures work better than others but generally you can access GPLEA website again. Isn't it wonderful?

Perhaps it's a good idea to reupload the site somewhere based on the pages provided by the wayback machine.

Anyhow, the GPLEA car links are still broken. Not a big problem since they are included in the GPLPS v1.07 installer (https://gplps.wordpre...-gpl-installer/) but still for completeness sake it might be a good idea to keep them around. I also have all files on my HD so if you need any help Keith I'd be glad to :) ,

Also, I really enjoyed the excellent carsound from the GPLEA by Keeper, I think. Is the file around the forums somewhere or should I upload them here?

EDIT: Waddayaknow, The Wayback Machine actually saved the carsounds file :) . So go to https://web.archive.o...ww.kotr.de/GPL/ and click on 'sounds' and there it is :) .

    Tommie.
