As we all know RSC has been down the last few days and some of us are getting withdrawal symptoms from reading our rank adventures, myself included so its time to have a mirror for the rank attack thread and as suggested i'm starting a thread here which i'll keep up to date too (hope you don't mind Bill and Keith)

Not so long back i decided to set myself a rather ambitious target, i want to reach -70 and a -350 monster rank and have now run at Kyalami, Monaco and Monza. Progress is going well and i think i might actually reach my goals!

Today i managed my first 1:26 lap at Monza in the Lotus which i'm very pleased with but its my Brabham time that i was amazed by being just 100.784% off the WR

Progress today so far

Monza 1967
  Lotus Training 1:26.922 (-0.440)

GPLRank Normal -64.895 (-0.258)
GPLRank Monster -317.748 (-0.440)

Congrats on the quick time Stewart!!!! :punk:
I've been trying out your setups for Kyalami & been able to knock off a few seconds.
Not quite able to beat the benchmark time but I'm still hammering away at it. :outdoor:
Keep the great setups coming.

Congrats on getting under 7:50 Aleksi! I bet that felt good seeing that time come up! But i see you've not uploaded it to GPLRank yet

I've started at Watkins Glen which isn't one of my favourite tracks and one i've always struggled to find time at, there just isn't an easy corner on that track!

Watkins Glen Int. 1967

just watching your progress, Stewart (and from others too)

right now I am focusing the Charade 1970 race, where I will race with Cooper 65
Dark, do you have the replay from your lap, to get an extra parameter? Maybe you could give me some idea of how to get into the 3:31's.
Tonight I was lucky, getting a nice lap in 3:32.76, but I know I could be a bit faster.

Hi Otavio, yes i've got a Cooper replay for Charade but i'm not on my main PC at the moment but when i go on later i'll post it, i also have a nice replay of Pierre Fabre in a BT7 which is worth watching.

I've decided i'm really not keen on Watkins Glen, its a very frustrating track, it tends to punish me quite severely when i try to push a little harder in just about every turn. I've had some small improvements though and i'm pleased i got the Honda below 1:05

Monza 1967
  Brabham Race 1:28.247 (-0.517)
    Practice 1:28.604 (-0.221)

Silverstone Circuit 1967
  Brabham Race 1:27.321 (new)
    Practice 1:28.254 (new)

Watkins Glen Int. 1967
  BRM Training 1:05.474 (-0.040)
  Honda Training 1:04.988 (-0.396)

GPLRank Monster -317.936 (-0.188)

agree with you, Dark, it is almost like a drama getting every new tenth in Watkins Glen. By far the least expressive track for any rank.
When I start a series of practicing at any track, usually I could begin going up to 2 seconds slower compared to my final times (as in Rouen, struggled to get into the 2:01's with BRM, Honda and Cooper and then reached a sub 2 minutes) in Watkins my difference does not reach 0.5s, very hard to evolute.
In the other hand, with a clearly better setup, seems a piece of cake improve times already set.

About Charade 1970, Raoni Frizzo seems every day more impressive  this afternoon he got a 3:31.723 with a Cooper 65 and a keyboard!!!!! Only 3 seconds above the overall WR!!!!! :o

thanks, Dark, later I'll take a look at these replays, it must help me to find some time :)

Is there any warp zone in Charade 1970 I don't know??????
Raoni Frizzo – 3:30.964
Cooper 65 and the keyboard, this is insanelly fast

Well, 65 cars have much less problems regarding wheelspin, so the acceleration help must act much less on the 65's keyboard, what must explain why Raoni can go as close as he gets from the WR's

Just popped in for a "Dark's Rank" fix in the absence of RSC!

Good to see you guys over here. Been doing some BRM hotlapping recently, must get around to uploading the times. I'll get that Monster TotalRank yet!

Happy lapping guys. :D

It seems that the track builders have gone completely insane and released an 11 mile dirt track which is insanely difficult to get around, excellent  :D

  Eagle Training 10:16.948 (new)
  Ferrari Training 10:51.505 (new)
