Hello everyone. I'm quite new to the Grand Prix Legends community. From what I've played already, I'm hooked on the game, and I plan to start a fantasy offline league using the GPL simulator. My only problem is, I'm very much used to the way things work in NASCAR Racing 2003 Season with the points, mainly using the "Race Points Manager" program. I've looked through the programs here but I haven't seen anything yet. Is there a program to manage point standings for Grand Prix Legends? I would very much appreciate it if someone could point me to one.
Thanks!

I'm not aware of such a program existing.
In all honesty, it's not a very "GPL" thing to do...

Well, it depends what you mean by "managing points". If you want to manipulate the points you've scored on an individual race, that's kinda cheating.
On second reading though, I don't think that's what you meant, but in any case, I don't think you'll find a program to suit your needs. It's just not something that there's been any need for.
If you outline exactly what it is you need to do, someone might be able to suggest a way to do it. Or at least a method to that effect.

When I was running our league RPM is what I used for that.
A bit of work to set up but once done it worked great.

I tried setting up Race Points Manager to work with Grand Prix Legends, but every time I would try to import a set of results, it would tell me something like "Invalid Export Setup, please make sure you are using N4 or NR2002" or something along those lines.

What does the program do then?
You drive a race and it adds the points earned in that race to a total?

I mean this is a program to change the point system, other than 9-6-4-3-2-1
never heard something related to it for GPL too.
Maybe in case of a 55 mod it could have some utility, but mod guy surelly could find a way to deal with it, or in case of discard system, variable season from season.

Hello,
this is a very old post I want to react to.
I've used Race Points Manager software (RPM) to managing points and earnings in NR2003. Now I switched back to GPL (after 9 years).
Question is: Is is worthy to make a converter, which converts GPL html exports into file format (also html), which can be loaded and used in RPM?
If there is a interest for this kind of software, I can make it...

Would you like to do make it?
Then please do.
Those with interest will surely appreciate your efforts and enjoy its benefit.

I don't understand the purpose of Race Points Manager.
If it changes how race points are computed and displayed within the sim, be advised that the '55 mod already does this (except for adding a point for fastest lap).

RPM (a similar program was Score4) is designed for league managers; you import each race result file and it keeps a running tally of the season points so after each race you have an updated listing of the driver standings (if I remember well, it also kept track of fast laps, pole positions, DNFs, DNSs, etc.). But it only works with N2003; I toyed with it years ago because championship mode did not work in the GTP mod. I believe it also allowed you to set a points system (NASCAR, Indycar, or custom), but once the season was started you could not change this. Both programs were/are standalone, they did not work within the game, you just set some parameters regarding the season then fed them the race reports; both were freeware, though during the heyday of N2003 Score4 became payware (rather expensive) then reverted to freeware again.

- Score4 accepts and processes ONLY ORIGINAL results files in HTML format produced by the following sims: NASCAR® Racing 4, NASCAR® Racing 2002 Season and NASCAR® Racing 2003 Season
- Score4 ONLY understands result files for ONLINE races.
- This program uses original HTML files generated by either sim above mentioned. If you edit them and somehow change the format of the file, the program may not work, so change the HTML files at your own risk.
- Driver IDs are unique and are picked from the HTML file. If a driver changes their ID, the program will recognize it as a different driver. Drivers DO use different IDs and you will get this problem. There are 2 ways to fix this issue. Please read the section: Changing a Driver ID for more detail.

Great.
Seems this can be a valuable utility.
Once you're ready with V1, you could open a new thread?

In light of some other conversations here, I think having RPM work with GPL reports would be great for the '67 Historic mod. No more jotting down everything by hand, just save the race reports and import them to RPM. (Of course some may prefer keeping track by hand, but I am insufferably lazy.)
