So nice to have this installer take all the misery out of applying all the patches and addons yourself!  Thanks guys for making it easy to get up to speed with a painless install of a 10 year old game that for some reason is still the best overall racing game around.

Thanks to you guys

We are planning to enhance the GPL experience as much as it is possible, making things easier for newcomers and for old GPL fans too :)

Thanks guys.
I'm still here and have a big break from sim racing at the moment. Several private things have higher priority at the moment.
Another strange distraction is iRacing BUT somehow with better sim engine and lot's of races I don't feel comfortable there so it's like I said: big break from sim racing.

And another strange thing is that I have still ideas to make a better Installer and All-In-One package. Some of you guys know that I would really try to make GPL running on all machines. Unfortunatly the modern ATI cards have problems detecting that GPL is running and therfor think that they can use some kind of enery saver which results in poor GPL performance :(
And I would love to have Windows pribluda working with the rasterisers from Nigel :)

And last but not least a bit of the pick up races drivers numbers I have seen in iRacing :D

Still dreaming ! ;)

Thanks a lot Arturo !
Still the network from Bill is the most valuable. Maybe a good idea to point the next installer to this site instead of RSC

I just want to pay my respect to the people involved with the installer program as well, Im a old fan of the game , and was in the heat from the start with GPL online back in late 98', but have been away completly from GPL for 3 or 4 years now , and just stumpled over first my GPL game cd in my archirve and then the same night the cd's and dvd's with GPL addon and related stuff all the way back from the first addons made for GPL.

So I pulled my self together and got it installed via the installer, and Im very glad I did , I have at smile all over my face when driving those old cars again, and as it is now , I dont really get why I left in the first place haha , it still gives the new games a run for the money , and can easly compete in enjoyment with all the newer titels for sure , and come out on top  :D, now when its running it stays thats for sure , you have made a man 11 years older a just as happy man as when I pulled the cd out of the box and installed it the first time over a decade ago.

btw if you miss ald program or a add on , that isnt availeble anymore do to many sites has vanised, give me a shout , I might have it on one of my addon disks ;)

once more thanks again

Hey Peter,

Good to see you around. I have been using your Eagle setups for a looong time (Thanks! ) when I was still learning to drive the 67's, since they were fairly fast but also stable. Hope you'll have fun discovering 'new GPL' including the updated 65's and the 66 Mod - especially slipstreaming and close racing is a completely different experience now, more realistic and more enjoyable too. Not to mention all the new tracks :report:

Regards, Rudy

I will chime in with thanks as well - I really appreciate all the time/work put into the installer and the updates that go into it.  I'm a newcomer to GPL in the past month, got there in a round-about way by starting with more modern sims like Live for speed and RBR.  I kept hearing about GPL so decided to try it, and, with these updates, i have to say - "wow".  I can't believe that I could've been driving gpl for years now, and havent...
