Cleaning my GPL archives, I found some post "2005-release" official updates, files are dated 2006 to 2008. They were probably posted somewhere on the RSC forum.

As usual, back-up your existing Monaco folder, I think the Monaco Rocks 2.1 from the above link is needed (or the one posted by Keith) :)

Hope this hasn't been asked before. I have a problem with Monaco Rocks V2. I can get a good framerate all round the track, but the framerate slows drastically in the tunnel. It was fine post update. I have tried removing all files with the word "light" in the name, but it didn't do the trick. Could anyone point me in the right direction as to which files I should remove? I don't want to switch to the low res files as apparently Monacane won't work with them.

The 3d tunnel lights, if you have them installed, are included in the main monaco.3do. To get rid of them, the best would be to reinstall the standard version (hi-rez final) from here https://dixierunners....ers.net/mrocks/

In the original post by Keith, the Monaco_Rocks_2 voodoo set has one mip sized 512 X 512. On the remote chance of anyone still needing it,or maybe just wants it,here is a resized 256 SF grass.mip converted to 16 bit.

Here is the whole set run through Winmip and this will increase your computing power. These mips are beautiful but with few to no sub-images,they will drag your CPU speed down unless you have a top or the line rig and video card, which I don't.

They still look very good and will put some more pep in the step of your computer. Enjoy

Since it appears there is a little interest in these higher sub image mips,I'll include the whole ball of wax for the 3 versions. Like the Voodoo version, just extract this zip over the top of whatever version of Monaco_Rocks_2 you are presently using.

      Hi Craig

It's good to talk again with my friends here. I'm a moderator over on the CN telescope forum and that unfortunately hogs the majority of my time on the internet. That is no real fun and whenever I can visit here, that makes my day.
      :hat-tip:

My visits here will be more frequent-in the short time I've been away the greatest simulation any computer has ever seen has gotten a lot better. I need to pay my respects and dues to the GPL community.

Is there a fix for this rogue piece of untextured grass?
It's just that it appears on the tv camera view sort of letting the track down.
While I'm on this subject, is a new water texture in the works too?

I just did a complete rebuild of my original Monaco Rocks version using this thread (because I built my original as the files were released realtime a while back) .. Using an original version of the Monaco track, plus the Monaco Rocks 2.7z file, all available addons below it that were appropriate for my Nvidea card, plus the High Res files .... It really is beautiful ... thanks to all your hard work . I have a question, ... is there something I can change in my core ini or Nvidea card settings to prevent the buildings and street lights on the left at the top of the hill disappearing and reappearing as I make my way up the hill?? I know I ask a lot from this dear old simulation as time goes on, but that would be great if I could solve the poping in and out of objects ....

Hi - I've just downloaded the zips for Monaco Rocks and copied all the mips into my Monaco track folder.  Nothing happens … same old blocky 1998 graphics.  Do I need to do something else to install?  I fear I'm missing the obvious here.  Many thanks!

      Andy

      ------

EDIT: all solved now.  A re-install of the original Papyrus Monaco solved it.  Was able to just copy the mips and 3DOs in and it worked!
