John has kindly given us permission to post these revised files.
The track was left unfinished by John with some untextured polygons, so this update has rebuilt track side objects and other new textures. Also included is a new AI.
Installation :-
remove or rename your "oulton" folder from gpl/tracks folder.
replace with the supplied "oulton" folder.
Credits :-
John Black for making the original track
This Update by :-
Paul Skingley
Remy Roesz
Rob Hunter
Nigel Pattinson
Francisco Caballero
Scott Stark
Jackseller
Rob Hunter is also working on a recompiled version of this track which will allow the future addition of a groove and extra track side objects.
This update is not voodoo compatible.
If you have a low spec system do not use this update.

EDIT
Remy has made different asphalt that has more dust at the edges to help see the edges of the track.

Remy's Asphalt
Remy_oulton_asphalt.zip 1.04MB 409 downloads
EDIT: I've just installed the improved Oulton, and added Remy's asphalt, and the result looks absolutely superb. The dusty track edges make it a lot easier to see where you're going!

I dl the last update for Oulton-Park. But i miss a groove-file for the new update. Is there a new groove for the update ? Or must i go back to the old version for my next league-race ? Racing without groove is very dangerous on this tricky track.
Greetings

Hi Achim,
The original oulton.3do is unworkable. That's why we wrote this in the above text : " Rob Hunter is also working on a recompiled version of this track which will allow the future addition of a groove and extra track side objects."

Thanks for the answer. Maybe i had missing the groove. But complete reworking will during some time, i think.
So i will go back to Caballero's Update for the race. In this version i get better looking asphalt and white lines (self construct with WINMIP2) on the side for a bit of saftey for the upcoming race without groove.
Greetings
Achim

Any progress on this track ?
I try it and have a "double-groove" in my folder. I don't know where i dl it. I make 2 pictures from the track to show what i have.
Is there another groove-file for this track ?
Maybe with the nice "double-effect*" i mark green in the second picture ? If there is a new groove-file out without this effect, i wish to get a "clean" groove "on-track" without "cutting" the greens in turns. I mark the "cutting" in my pictures in red.
Many thanks and greetings
Achim
* = As far i understand what i see, "double-groove" looking both sides of groove the tires do a black and darker line.

It's groove.mip that gives you such effect. Its like groove on wet tracks where tire trails are brighter. If you want normal groove simply copy groove.mip from any other track.
BUT, where did you get Oulton67 track with groove? I never saw it.

I don't remember where i get the files. It is minimum over 2 years in the past and i change my complete system and lost some archives on my old PC.
I will upload the extracted files for you. I think the main track-3do is the relevant file for display the groove. I have the "oulton.3do" loose in my Oulton-folder (see file-date 03.02.2014 to get a hint).
Thanks to Pavel for the hint with another groove file to reduce the "double"-effect and get back a "center" groove. This will clear the "cutting" too. I like the "double" effect, but i don't like the "sharp black borders" left and right on the groove (including cutting the greens).
Greetings
Achim
P.S.: I will try another groove from a different track and report how it looking.

Back with results. I do 2 pictures on the same places to show how the now used new "single" groove looking. I take the first i found in my 512 installed tracks.
I do another screenshot with WINMIP2 to show the "old" and the "new" groove-files. I load both twice to get them in one screenshot (see my text in screenshot 3).
It fit perfect with the same numbers then the "double" (see screenshot 3).
Maybe i will test some changes on the "double" to get smooth outside-effect as we see in the "single" groove. i think i have a lot of tracks for good looking "double" groove. I will report if i can change the outside "hard" borders on the file.
Greetings
Achim
P.S. 1: If i don't remember where i get the files, all credits to the original editor/author.
P.S. 2: I hope the files in my post above do the trick. If not, please let me know. I will upload files or trackfolder again.
P.S. 3: At last i upload the new groove i used for the screenshots from today.
