Does anyone know how to manually install the Van Gossum 67 Cooper variants.
The Installation Guide doesn't help me much. I get the impression it will be delete the cov4.3do and rename one of the others. maybe even more files but I can't figure out which ones. I get as far as 3 variations of the works cars but then run int ctds.
    Here is the Readme supplied.

      You can't.

There aren't any player 'options' created yet, only the online skins (cov1-3 and cov5-20)
I've tried making some of them my player car, and there are so many extra 3dos paired to each online car individually that pulling them all together for the player car proved too difficult so I just gave up.

Basically, you'll have to stick to the green one for now until VG finishes the set properly.

Hey guys  I was wondering if you 2 blokes noticed this... "based on GPLEA Cooper V1.1 & 2.0" & this carset was released .. " - Released 31 DEC 2003 - "
So am I right in saying you've tried this with Cooper V2.1 ?

        Cooper v1.1 - 11-02-2003
        Cooper v2.0 - 20-12-2003
        Cooper v2.1 - 16-10-2004
        -------------------------------
        Cooper v2.1
        - have a look at the car shape :-)
        - optional white Rob Walker rims (for all cars only)
        - optional dish wheels (front and / or rear)
        - mirror textures with reflected rear tires

So I'm guessing we should look for the older "v1.1 & v2.0 Cooper" and have a go at it again.
        Just my thoughts
        Quattro

Are we looking for these? Thanks Peter

Well, VG's addon uses most of the old GPLEA cooper 3dos, it effectively overwrites the v2.1 install with a heavily updated version of v1.0.
That said, I haven't installed it since v1.0, but it wasn't easy to do then either.

I suppose VG will release all the proper player options one day.

Umm sure they say "Patience is a Virtue" but if I can master this then you can too! Maybe not as simple as connect the dots :lol1: but it can be done. With WinMip2 you got to get a hold of which piece of the puzzle you want ingame. I have to find the right colour mirrors & rear splash aprons and then I'm set with #18. My mate Peter taught me well enough so I had lots of practise with his Fez. But Alan you've got to get in there and
rename them yourself mate (rename the cov4.mip & 3do so something like original and rename the ones you want to cov4.mip & 3do).I just spent a couple minutes with WinMip2 & a coffee and flogged a version together.

Looking at these I've got to change the mirrors that'll be (sifmirt.mip)and around the bottom of the engine those aprons are wrong so I'm guessing I've got to change the engine.mip too. So since then I through it ingame and you can see it works fine as no ctd experienced.
Talking with VG he told me that these were based on the Cooperv2.0
            Cheers Walt

            ===================================================
Ok a little bit from a PM I had with VG goes like this.
That 's the reason my carset is only compatible with 2.0 cause it has unique 3d models with their own properties to match the 11 different cars / engines i wanted in the carset ...

So if you want my coopers in your GPL you have to install them on a 2.0 GPLEA cooper ... If you want 2.1 you won't be able to run my carset on it ...

So go back a couple posts and grab Cooperv2.0 and lets see what we get shall we?

              Thanks Quattro and Pirenzo,

I thought as much, didn't realise it was unfinished though.
As I said I managed to get 3 diferrent works cars without difficulty but since they are all green, colour matching different parts wasn't an issue. I am perfectly happy with the GPLEA works models so it was the other variants I was after.
I shall continue fiddling around with VG's set 'cos they look good but shall probably wait for his final release. Heck I shall probably d/l it anyway even if I do figure it all out.
              Thanks again guys.

I am having problem with RSC Forums, it seems...I can't get the page 2 of the release thread...It keeps giving me a "You must log in to view this page"...But it won't let me log in because "No posts from foreign domains allowed"...It also shows my last visit as sometime in January, when I was just there yesterday & signed in...

                      No arguments here...

Except for some old MIG factories in the former Eastern Bloc, it's the only place where you can get a custom-beaten body for your cherished motor...

There is actually a coach-builder who will make you an Aston-Martin DBR-1 (or 2, I suppose), hand-beaten body, custom modified A-M engine, even the fragile transaxle...

All you need is a wheelbarrow full of $$$$$...
