I was just wondering if it's possible to convert an ISI based track to GPL?

I'm working on a version of Albert Park 1958 in Bobs Track Builder, and I'd love to convert it to GPL.

Is it possible?

Could anyone help me with it?

I've done as much research as I can, I've pretty much finished building all the scenery, just a few finishing touches are needed like the skyboxi, low poly cars for scenery, and 50's spectators.

I do remember Ginetto answering this before and he said it’s easier to build from scratch than to try to covert a track to GPL. And we all know there is nothing easy about building a track for GPL

thank you.

I was afraid of that. I'll see if I can do it. I do have a PDF on the process.

The good thing is you have the track map, elevation data and terrain data. plus location of buildings etc.. which will be a big help.

By all means go ahead. If it was made in NR2003 you maybe would be able to convert it—heavy emphasis on the maybe portion.

Otherwise have fun, I tried to throw my hat into the ring, but I didn't have the patience to sit through it. I've used Doom Wad editors from the early-to-mid 90's that were more intuitive than the track building software we have available. Hope the best to you

Would be great to have a final version of historic Albert Park for GPL, and you apparently have a great starting point by there, even if used for reference to start from (almost) scratch with gpl-compatible programs.
