Hello,

I am sharing this bad experience in the hope that other players will notice the problem.

My gaming laptop was very hot, in gaming I had a PROCHOT throttling (CPU 90° C).
So I looked for an effective solution to rebuild the CPU and GPU (nvidia).

Grizzly Conductonaut is a liquid metal that is very efficient at dissipating heat in the cooling system.
Indeed I had gained -12° C !
But this product can spread...
I had put a special varnish around the electronic components, that was not enough: a micro-drop rolled a little further, there was a short circuit, the nvidia GPU s  'is broken.

I managed to restart the PC by disabling the nvidia component, now I have the other integrated Intel Graphic GPU left.  It's a disaster for the GPL, D3Dv2 doesn't load big tracks, and opengl flickering in the menus ...
It was a very expensive gaming PC, I'm really disappointed

Most of the times I do service on a PC or laptop with heat problems, the main problem is - apart from dust - that there's far too much thermal paste applied. This counts for manufacturer-applied 'pads' of thermal paste as well. Less is more.

You don't need any special 'miracle' or 'gamer' thermal paste. Use acetone or lighter fluid to remove the old stuff. Get any standard silicone based thermal paste. Apply just a small drop on the CPU/GPU DIE. Spread it. It should shimmer wet and look a bit milky, but not more. Mount the fans. If anything comes out under the heat-sink, it's too much.

Oh, and about the flickering: disable triple buffering in the graphics driver.

Hi,

thanks, yes I usually used Grizzly Kryonaut thermal paste, it is very good, I have put this one back now.
But I wanted to test the liquid metal... It’s much more efficient but dangerous, the proof ...

I have not activated triple-buffering, I have this problem only with the intel graphic GPU, I can’t make nothing to solve this flickering in menus, I tried everything for hours.
I ordered another gaming laptop, I will receive it in a few days, but my banker is going to kill me

The old gaming laptop will be used for the GPL server, the nvidia integrated GPU is dead, but otherwise it’s excellent and very fast

Now I know why I've flickering in GPL menus with integrated intel graphic in Windows 10... (openGL only) :/
