Which Downloads Do I Click?

I am confused about the mod itself, however. First is the download by clicking on the photo of the #7 car. There is 2nd the update patch v1.0. The third is the 71 Historical Addon and the note says update patch v1.0 is included in the Historical. So do I simply click the pic of the #7 car and go straight to the pic of the 71 Historical Addon?
Just trying to be careful and thanks in advance for the advice.

Yes, at first you need to download and install main mod by clicking photo of the #7 car - CA71_1.0.exe. Next if you don't want to install historical update then you only need Update Patch - CA71_Update_Patch.rar. Or if you want to have historical correct car grids for every championship round then you need to download and install Historical Addon - CA71_HistAdd_v1.0.7z. In case of Historical Addon you really don't need to install Update Patch because it's included in Historical Addon. But there will be no problems if you install Patch and then Historical Addon.
Hope that helps.

https://canam71.gplworld.de/
in this order:
At first I would install all missing tracks to your GPL installation as listed in the README section on the website, here: https://canam71.gplwo...de/read060.html
Then install the mod files:
1) CA71_1.0.exe
2) CA71_Update_Patch.rar
3) CA71_HistAdd_v1.0.7z
And don`t forget to create a CanAm71 Player according to my GPL Easy Installation Guide.

Have fun.

Something failed on my side. I created the player. I installed the tracks. I downloaded the file on the #7 car and installed that file without any problems. I am stuck on Update Patch and the Historical files. I got the 7zip as you know. So I put the Update Patch into a folder and had it extract in the folder but I cannot right click to run it. I tried left clicking what looks like an install file (symbol which looks like a gear) and nothing happens. When that failed, I deleted the folder containing the Update and just downloaded it again. This time, I just tried to right click to run as admin but nothing happened. So I tried the left click and nothing happened. Same approach with the Historical file. I'm obviously doing something wrong.
Can you advise please? Thanks!

Somewhere in the settings - options for folders - is a box checked to hide the known file endings...
~ open explorer - on top -> view - folder options - view - hide the known file endings
- uncheck it and see you downloaded an .exe.
So CA71_1.0.exe = EXECUTABLE file
sorry my sys is in german...

The mod is installed and the tracks are installed. It does run. I am just stuck with the update and the historical files in that I am fumbling the installation of them.
Thanks in advance.

You click on that image (of the #7 car) to download the install file. Install that to your GPL installation, then either download the Update Patch v1.0 ... or download the Historical Add-on v1.0. Then, install either of those to your GPL installation.

Exactly right....I am failing to get either the Update Patch or the Historical Add-on v1.0 installed. I tried Cookie's idea and my computer (Win 10 Home) didnt have what he mentioned as checked.
Any tips? Sorry that I was creating more confusion.

1)
Download CA71_Update_Patch.rar
Save to your hard drive.
Right-click on CA71_Update_Patch.rar -> choose 7-Zip -> Unpack to "CA71_Update_Patch\" (it will create a subfolder to avoid loose files within your download area)
Then open the newly created CA71_Update_Patch folder.
Copy all included folders and files (cars, layout, tracks, dr71CA.ini, gp71CA.ini, ReadMe_CA71_Update_Patch.txt) into your main GPL folder, (Sierra/GPL) allowing the contents to overwrite the files already there.
-------------------
2)
Download CA71_HistAdd_v1.0.7z
Save to your hard drive.
Right-click on CA71_HistAdd_v1.0.7z and unpack -> choose 7-Zip -> Unpack here (it has a subfolder included)
Note: Unpacking might take a moment because it will be 1.49 GB.
Then open the CA71_HistAdd_v1.0.
Copy all included folders and files (cars, layout, repository, season, sound, tracks, dr71CA.ini, gp71CA.ini, ReadMe_CA71_Historical Add-on_v1.0.pdf) into your main GPL folder, (Sierra/GPL) allowing the contents to overwrite the files already there.

This mod is an incredible piece of work. Just brilliant - an entirely different race car. Amazed how the modders not only of this one, but all the others as well, expand GPL. Thank you!
