I have a problem:
in many seasons created by myself in GEM+ several tracks appear as *not installed' in the respective season.ini displayed in the GEM+ season manager. This shows up with many tracks (very often tracks like kyalami68, silver2, nurburg68, brands68 but also specifically designed tracks like the new Monza67, Monza69, Spa67, Watkins Glen 71 and so on). Nevertheless the tracks work well in the GPL simulator. Furthermore in some seasons these tracks appear properly in others they show up the *not installed* sign posting.
My most current exemple is the recently released Monza67 track by Ginetto et al. The track works well in 67 historic mod (v. 02, off-line mod) with one exeption: the recording of my hot laps in the "fastest laps" menue is not correct. The best lap times are recorded and displayed but they do not appear under "Monza67" but the track is labelled "Kyalami" (and other tracks showing the sign posting *not installed* are also displayed as "Kyalami").
Can anybody help me to fix this issue. What's wrong?

Thomas

Hi,

Someone who knows better than me will come along in minute and help out.

I'm sure this is a common problem.

Don't do too much mucking about with your install just yet.

If I remember correctly this can be cured by a simple sgem.ini update.

And the problem with "kyalami" appearing can be edited in the appropriate season.ini files.

Paul.

Hi,

Maybe check the season.ini file you used. Probably the shortname = kyalami. Change it into Monza67 and the fastest time should be for Monza67.

You will see ´Not installed´ in the season editor when the track has no name in the season.ini file. You can still drive the track though using that season.ini file. You can edit the seaon.ini file via the GEM+ season editor or notebook.

I hope this helps

I've no idea what the message signifies but I've been at this sim for years and it has never given me trouble. It's most likely some vestigial trait in GEM. So as long as your tracks load in game and show up green in IGOR you can ignore the warning.

Yes, the GEM+ option sorting the season files is buggy!

Look into the season, ini and check if the slots are correct, if you have the Kyalmi and rsa flag in first it's corrupted.
So take your backup files and create new ones manually...
New tracks are allways added to the bottom by the installer - so move it to its proper place and control it after GEM+

Look in your Seasons folder and look for the PREgem.ini files. They have helped me out many a time.

Is there another standalone program for managing and creating season files, other than Gem+?

Hi Marx,

thank you for your hint. But this helped only partially. You are right, the name slot in all affected cases was empty. I filled in reasonable Names like Monza 1967 or Monza 1969 and afterwards the *not installed* message disappeared. Nevertheless in the hot laps roster in the 67x GPL mod again shows up the "Kyalami" label in all cases...... :hithead:

Very strange!!! And furthermore in all cases of tracks just being clones of the original tracks for the season 68 or 65 like Brands Hatch 1968, Silverstone 2, Nürburgring 1968 and so on in the GEM description only shows up the original name like Brands Hatch, Nürburgring, Silverstone even though in the GEM+ editor a more detailed name was filled in by me like Brands Hatch 1968....

Hi,

et the end it only helped to correct the season.ini file manually using the windows editor. :dino:

In most of the cases there appeared the South African flag and the shortstrackname "Kyalami" even though the other names of the affected tracks were different. Additionally the lap numbers, starting grids and so on were also a copy of the Kyalami GP; probably because Kyalami was the first track in the row (my season fies normally are extension of the original GPL 67 season file extended by my preferred tracks. Obviously the GEM+ season manager is not 100% reliable and causes corruptions.
